Felger is a general pain in the ass. What he's saying now contradicts something he said the other day. He was just saying if they want Maye then take him at #3 and don't listen to trade offers. Now he is saying they should trade back to #9 to hopefully get McCarthy when there is no guarantee. He just spews anything out to be a pain and may not even realize how stupid he sounds sometimes. He'll get his paycheck either way so doubt he cares.

Maye isn’t falling out of the top 5 that’s ridiculous. Chris Simms is a trolling click baiter. Also, wtf do we want D Adams for? A 31yr old WR to a rebuilding team? Makes no sense for the team or the player.

The Bears have 4 total picks in this draft, They have nothing to offer us to move back first off. And Felger, there is no way you can know with certainty that a guy you want won't go before you pick or that someone won't jump ahead of you via trade and take your guy. Pick 8 could be up for grabs as well as pick 9 if Chicago wants to pick up some extra picks this year. Atlanta is probably taking a defensive end so they could move back 3 or 4 spots and still get the guy they want behind the NYJ,LV or Den and boom, there goes your QB you thought would be there at 11.

Penix solves two top issues with one pick. QB & LT. Because penix is a lefty… which means we just paid to protect his blindside for the next 3 years. THAT enables us to actually focus on weapons early rounds and get a tackle later. Add in the draft capital we would be getting to trade down and get penix… yeah its a no brainer. Best passer in class, ready to play with a chip on his shoulder, even if he turns out to be a bridge it was still worth it.

I'm a Felger fan generally but he makes no sense here. He says that everyone has a different draft board but some people know exactly who is picking whom. You don't know where these QB's will be available, and moreover, this isn't a normal year since the demand is sky high, with four teams looking to out-maneuver the others in order to get a QB, which includes the Giants, Broncos, Raiders and Vikings. Therefore, QB-hungry teams will need to pay a QB tax for a potential trade-up.

The media hype inflating these QB values is nauseating. Not taking Harrison Jr is criminal. Zappe with Harrison Jr is better than Maye next year with KJ Osborn and Bourne. Free Agents wouldnt come because the roster is bad? So next year NE is more appealing with the same bad roster and a QB that sat for a year? Gimmie a break. INVEST IN THE ROSTER and keep building a good foundation. QB is a waste this draft. Not to mention Harrison, starting Oline, another WR/TE and defensive help = someone like Dak being interested to come play in NE and the Pats will have the $$ to spend...

How can you fully evaluate McCarthy in the offense he played in? They ran what 61% of the time. He never had the game put on his shoulders. McCarthy could end up being a huge bust! Too big of a risk! Look at what happened to Jordan Love. He had a worse year in college than the year before. Because the team around him was much worse. Same as Drake Maye. DO NOT BLOW THIS PATRIOTS!

That's not how pro sports work. They have almost all the intel and they operate accordingly. They are also all members of the same association, so the risk of bad faith is minimum (still could happen though). Lakers were committed to Ball. In private and in public. Magic, Lavar and the kid said it at the time. Lonzo didn't work out for any other team. And neither did Tatum with the Lakers. So that was blatant even for the public. Fulzt-Tatum gets a little trickier but still clear. Celtics did like it both. And were kinda open to draft either with the first pick. I assume as truth it was Tatum 1A and Fultz 1B. But both were a real possibility. In fact, Fultz was scheduled with the Celtics for a second workout but it got cancelled. Why? He went to practice with the Sixers on Saturday. And on Monday the trade was official. Was it risky? Not really. Sounds like the talks between the teams were pretty straightforward. "We want Fultz. And you seem torn between him and Tatum. Would you take Tatum and a first so we can secure him?". And that's it. Could have it been a huge masquerade by the Sixers to get Tatum? I suppose so but that kind of shady move would hurt you in the long term. I don't think it would happen really.
@Paul_pp
@Paul_pp Ай бұрын
Fultz was the consensus number 1 pick and with trade talks to the Sixers Ainge obviously knew who they wanted, Lakers were taking Ball 100% too, Tatum was hurt at Duke , The NBA is a lot more predictable then the NFL because in the NFL their are 22 diferent positions, In the NBA it's either a guard, wing, or big man. Sixers and Lakers wanted Guards and Fultz and Lonzo were the consensus top 2. Also in the NBA it's hard to trade up in a draft compared to the NFL. Every team has 6 other picks to offer in trade packages that are valuable, In the NBA only the first round picks have value
@stickman1742
@stickman1742 Ай бұрын
That is absolutely ridiculous. Fultz was this amazing player that absolutely everyone knew was going first. The Lakers were so clearly in love with Ball. Even at 3, some weren't sure Tatum was the pick. It seemed pretty clear that Ainge liked Tatum but he didn't state it. Even I knew who the Sixers and Lakers were taking and I'm not a big basketball fan. Ainge made the trade precisely because everyone knew. The odds of him being right were probably over 99%. That is not a wrong move by any means.
@keithtaylor3896
@keithtaylor3896 Ай бұрын
This is insane . Philly was worried about LA they did not believe in the ball talk cause they did not trust Magic. That’s why they made the deal. Otherwise they would have stayed out and and not jumped LA. Cs had no business get a pg since they had IT. You could have risked Tatum because you went from 100% to 50% chance of getting him. Just luck you believed LA cause Philly did not believe LA media hype of Ball.

Felger's takes have been so bad with this draft and today's is the exact opposite of what he's been screaming about for the past month. He's been arguing for weeks that if the team likes their Quarterback then why screw around and trade back? Just take him with their 3rd pick. Now today he's saying if they like McCarthy then why don't they just trade back and wait for him to fall as if there wouldn't be teams like the Vikings, Giants, Saints, Broncos & Raiders who are all in that range and every teams needs a QB. Jj probably doesn't fall to the Pats. Capitalizing HEATED in your title is just some clickbait to come see Michael Felger make another terrible hot take. Why does this guy still have a job in NE sports media when hbgrimmer850 states it correctly below, the guy is clueless.

I noticed the same thing. Felger just wants to create a heated debate, he doesn't really have a belief in anything. Easy for him as he doesn't really have any useful knowledge about any of this stuff. He has absolutely no idea what college players will be successful in the pros in any sport.

I have no idea why people think you build up a talented team without a qb first. Teams with lousy qbs have lousy records. #1 priority is to get a good qb as that improves everything. Teams windows last around 3 years, so if you build up a talented team you have a few years to get a great qb to compete. Good luck with that. So you are still mediocre and then you need to rebuild again. Look, the concept is pretty easy. Do whatever you can to get a top qb then hopefully you have a good organization that knows what to do with it. Do the Pats have that now? I have no idea. Everyone there now could be a bunch of clowns for all we know. Or they'll each have different opinions on everything with the Krafts making the final decision. The team currently have 2 big issues, no qb and quite possibly no one in charge that has any clue how to win in the nfl. All we can do is hope we get lucky.
