Crying just watching this.. I remember messaging Mike 3/4 years ago when I wanted to divorce my husband he was going thru it and still posting the word of God still keeping his eyes on Christ so I messaged Him on IG AND He told me don’t divorce. After filing for divorce 7 times I canceled the divorce and the Lord is working in my marriage and in me and my husband. I give all the praise glory and honor to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Thank you Mike for sharing the word of God and your testimony the Lord bless you and your wife and family in Jesus name Amen

Sometimes you just have to set boundaries with your family. Six years ago today I met the love of my life. My parents always told me to date someone my age and not younger. Someone who would be independent and could take care of me financially. I met him and he was three years younger than me, still lived with his parents but was not financially dependent of his parents. So when I told my parents about him they weren’t all about it. Then two years go by and my parents didn’t respect the fact that that was the man i wanted to be with. Therefore there was a time when Mom and I lived under the same roof but went out without talking to each other for two months. And one night at midnight my dad and mom confronted me about him and how I was going to regret my bad attitude towards him when he would leave me. I was so over the toxic relationship I had with them I packed my things and left. As much as I hated leaving in those terms I knew what I wanted. One yr passed by with no communication with my parents or two younger brothers. The night I left I told them, “Everything I’ve ever done has been because of you to make you happy and to fulfill your dreams of the daughter that you want me to be, but what you wanted me to be when I grew up as a woman was never what I wanted to be. I’m going to make the decision that makes me happy. And right now at this moment in my life, he is what makes me happy and I just hope that one day you realize that your happiness doesn’t always have to be mine.” Five years after he proposed and we just got married last November. We all talk now we have been in communication and respecting each other for the last few years, which I’m happy because at the end of the day, that’s my family and I wanted them to accept my husband, but I wasn’t going to force it into the family. I wanted to come naturally from them to accept and respect him. And now they all love him. And now everybody respects each other and their limits with us within our family, but that was only because I said the boundaries.

Your faith in Jesus Christ is admirable, and I'm grateful for the positive impact you're having on others. 🙏 Jacky, I'm a huge fan of your music, and I've been enjoying your songs since I was a child. Your talent and passion are truly inspiring, and I appreciate the joy your music brings to my life. 🎶 As a blind person, I'd love to have a video message from you, Jacky, or even just a chance to meet you and express my admiration in person. Your strength and resilience over the past few years have been truly remarkable, and I'm so grateful for the positive influence you've had on my life. 💖 I also want to express my love and admiration for the entire Rivera family. When Jacky started making music, I was thrilled to discover another talented Rivera sister. The first song I heard from her was "Siete Mariposas," and I was blown away by her beautiful voice and emotional delivery. She truly has a gift for singing, and I'm so grateful to have her music in my life. 🎶 The entire Rivera family is incredibly talented, and I'm so grateful to have them as role models in my life. Please keep growing and evolving as a family, and never stop sharing your love, kindness, and talents with the world. You're making a difference in so many lives, including mine. 🌈 Thank you all for being such amazing role models and for sharing your love, talents, and kindness, 🫶🏼 congratulations Mike on your podcast blessings. On top of that, we are not really religious, but I am spiritual. I do believe in Jesus Christ. Our marriage went through the ups and downs that at our lowest point my husband feared of losing me and prayed to God for us not to lose our marriage. He guided us to marriage counseling and I believe Jesus Christ brought our therapist to us as a blessing. We are healing and keeping fighting for our marriage everyday. I wish our families would understand how important therapy and believing in God is to heal ourselves. I applaud you and Jackie for your mission because God knows if I was 19 and married today this would have helped me a lot.

I’ve only shared our story with family and friends. In our family, there are very few of us married everyone else is separated or divorced. I just finished the second episode and wow it was beautifully done. Your guys upbringing is so similar to ours. My husband’s parents were together married when we met but ended in divorced. My mother in law left. My father in law didn’t have a good relationship with his children until he was left alone. When his change was noticeable that’s when my husband and his siblings began to built a relationship with him. He was very apologetic for his behaviors and advice my husband to take care of his family and to not repeat the same mistakes as he did. Unfortunately, sadly my father in law passed away couple years ago. My parents weren’t married just lived together for 20+ years till my mom left. I was only 14 years old. My father (single dad) raised me and my sisters on his own. My mom was not involved in our lives till later. My siblings and I still to this day have a very complex relationship with our mom. Our childhood traumas like cheating and lies really played a huge role in our marriage. When we decided to get together and get married our family said we were too young and we weren’t going to last. We were just a whim or like they say in Spanish “capricho” Here we are 24 years later, choosing ourselves and fighting. Marriage counseling helps when each individual is willing to do the work internally. Thank you Mike and Jackie once again.

A sit down meeting when you’re already married is insane. Lol. Also… this “person” sounds very calculated in the way they operate. Makes me wonder what else they addressed with Jenni .. and put in her head This is YOUR story. Never be afraid to share! Everyone has a past. Maybe the world would be a better place if more people shared the bad parts of their pasts and how they overcame it!
@TheMACEffect197 ай бұрын
The crazy thing is, I know things about others, like crazier than my past but people focus on what I did. In this world... you know how many families go thru molestation??? but no one talks about it??? The truth is, we do need to stand on top of our past, its our past!! we learn, we grow and keep moving on. Thank you for your comment and time. thank you.

My ex and i went through a very difficult time with both of our families because they got so involved in our relationship. He let everyone get to him. When we do talk, he expresses a lot of anger and no matter how much i tell him we shouldn't care what people think or what they say, he still doesnt seem to get past those events that we went through with our families. Its as if he gave up or im thinking maybe he just never loved me because he doesnt try to keep us together either or try to make it work. I believed our love would have overcame any obstacle or hate we were getting but i guess not. He expressed at one point that he felt our relationship was ruined because of what we went through especially since we did hurt eachother as well during those times. He didnt have a father figure in his life so i do try to be patient with him and be understanding at times with the way he reacts at times. Iam heart-broken but all i can do is pray to God for both of us to be able to heal. Iam happy that you and Jacqie shared your story. Love the content. Blessings!

@@TheMACEffect19 Yes, it has been a lot. I did ask him what his thoughts were on us going to counseling. I also mentioned that we can go to the sessions together or individually. He had agreed at first and when the appointment was set, he didnt want to go on the day of, reason bcuz he doesnt want to feel like hes being judged. Feels like i've tried everything. He did say he was scared to try again and go through the same stuff we went through, he hates disappointing me and feels he doesnt do enough. I just give him space, i feel like theres nothing more i can do. Thank you for keeping us in prayer, appreciate it a lot.
@TheMACEffect197 ай бұрын
Nothing more than prayer, love and space. But counseling is a huge key part in getting better. They will not judge you, the truth abut getting judge is that you know you have things you need to fix / get better in... but you think by not talking they will just go away. But that not true... you must fight shame with boldness and expose it.

Thank you for sharing your story. I have a similar story but it was with a cousin of mine too. She had previously dated my now husband. We had both been single for a year before we dated and she too had moved on and lived with her child and boyfriend. But made it a HUGE deal when we started dating until this day almost 16 years later she still bullies me and she recruits other people to do the same. Im also Christian and I thank God I was blessed with the husband I have. Your story helped me thank you for sharing I know im not the only one that goes through this.

This is awesome and beautiful when God wants something to be it will be. I love this so much I had the same calling with my husband at church and fought it and made so many reasons why it couldn’t but what God forms no one can break. Family are sometimes the worst enemies and always have something to say but I always fell it’s the evil one working through them. True love and love in the path of God will always have trials but faith is what will hold you together
