The “Lights Out” bass solo, said by the man himself, it was the most difficult to perform at first and yet it’s the most iconic part of that song for damn sure. - Also that Orange Jaguar is like sex on lava.

@@ML-nj4qi I've played bass for 6 years now. Experimented with every sound I can try. Mike Kerr is a killer bassist, who says using a bass to make guitar sounds isn't how you play bass? It's an instrument for fuck's sake if you try and limit yourself to the "norms" how can you be unique? honestly people like you make me so disappointed in the music community.

Pretty damn humble. The man may not play the most technically impossible stuff but the coordination to play and sing both parts with nothing to hide behind is a different type of mastery. I’m sure talent is an element of it but I’m very confident the care put into constructing and time spent practicing these songs is where he sets himself apart. Royal Blood, Bloc Party and Muse have long been my inspiration to build my independence between simultaneous vocal and instrumental parts. Absolutely removed the excuse of “no one can/does do that” and I’m thankful that they did

It's not just playing and singing it's also the extensive foot pedals with zero margin for error. The amount this guy takes on his shoulders is unreal, just a natural performer.
