@Jeff VR yeah, that’s why I said he’s kind of neutral. He said he agrees and understands some of the points being made on both sides. George staying humble and true to his morals and values completely made both Mike and logan look stupid. They truly are consumed with the “LA mindset” and out of touch with the real world. Realistically, what the fuck is mike even saying anymore. I used to be a real fan of him, I thought he was a funny, genuine guy, but overtime he’s just turned into a self absorbed individual attempting to disguise and validate his feelings through discussions like this. What is he possibly doing that takes up sooooo much time? It’s not like he’s starting Tesla or making groundbreaking advancements in the COVID vaccine. He had a girl that truly loved and cared for him and he threw it away for what, a new clout house? These personalities become so jaded with regards to their work, often making it seem much larger and more time consuming than it is. Major credit to George for keeping it real, it’s really nice hearing a voice of reason among all the rubbish spewed in this podcast. Overall, still a big fan of the podcast, but Mike, you lost me lately.

If you listen properly, you'll understand that the breakup wasn't a consequence of all the businesses he was running. He's been at it for a while now and still they dated for over a year. I love how Mike kept telling George 'these aren't my views' but immediately proceeded give his own opinion like 'I think' etc. Mike is obviously a bit bummed out over the break up but he can't project/normalize this selfish narcissistic outlook he thinks everyone should share. His opinion on this would have been completely different a week ago. I'm a long time listener of the podcast and I find sometimes Mike uses dirty tactics to demonize his opposition in debate, like here with 'woah, don't bring Logan into this', it might be nice to get someone a bit more level headed and can get their point across without taking discussions personally on, someone like George, as a co-host for a while. I just find Mike very obnoxious and verbose at times. Logan is meant to be the star of the podcast but he's sitting in Mikes shadow most of the time.
@Darrecepticon
@Darrecepticon 4 жыл бұрын
Update: Just watched on. I'll double down on the obnoxious point I made above. The whole segment over looking up the literal definition of 'selfish' and twisting it to fit this narrative (that Mike said he isn't even pushing for?) is ridiculous and Mike really ran with it when he knew Logan had his back. He kept getting hyped up and cutting across George when he was just sitting quietly and making concise counters when Mike allowed him to speak. Mike tends to scoff, chuckle and disregard any guests points that aren't religiously inline with his own. He always looks back at Logan like a little puppy walking off the leash for affirmation too.

Mike had his youth taken away from him due to addiction, so right now he's trying to make up for those years lost by doing all the shit he wish he was able to do when he was younger, he's 36 but is living the life of a 23 year old LA influencer, and it seems Amara wants someone who has an older mindset and wants to settle down with her, and Mike's mindset just isn't there yet, that's why this relationship was doomed to fail, and both of them are better off for it.

Mike needs to learn how to listen. George was 100 percent right and killed it this episode. Too many people are focused on searching for the right person.. instead of trying to be the right person. Mikes all about money too, he wanted Logan to stay because next year he will be “laughing about the $ they made last year”. George is humble and just a more pure person. Mike doesn’t need to be giving out advice, he needs to go back to the AA book, do step work, and remember where he came from. He was a heroin addict close to death, didn’t have a pot to piss in, & he needs to learn to be grateful and stop wanting more and more. That’s switching addictions. Should be grateful to just be alive.. yet he has the world in his hands got his dream girl and still isn’t happy because he just wants more and more... I like mike but it’s true. His new addictions are his ego, greed, being in control, seeking more success, fame, money and he can’t seem to live in moderation. I like Mike & this is just my point of view...

@ReesePlaysGamez
@ReesePlaysGamez 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah pretty much. The rest of the world doesn't operate like this. Mike is right when he says LA is for people who want to build a business, but George is right by saying no one brings their family to LA to live there if they have that choice. Most Americans are blue-collar workers striving to just live their life. It's not normal for people to prioritize business over relationships because most people aren't businessmen. It's why we have a 1%, not a majority population of rich people.

I'm so on George's side in this conversation. Because of bad relationships and current state of mind, because you are not ready you can't just determine what relationship and marriage is about as a whole. If you are ready for relationship, With the right person you would have diferrent perspective of relationship and marriage. Also I loved what George said about being selfish. Focusing on your self, focusing on your career and work is not selfish. Selfish is when lacking consideration for others. Just like When George said to Logan When I look up to you, I don't see you as a selfish person. If You are selfish you are not gonna care about your friends, your employees and helping them out with their career. Like Logan Giving George a platform because he noticed talent in George 5 or 6 years ago, giving George push to be a comedian all the time. Logan helping all of his friends out with their career, still riding with the same people. A selfish person doesn't care about others like that, doesn't encourage others like that. You can be focused on your work, career and still share your life with another person; when you are ready, when you find the right person.

honestly i’m the exact opposite! this whole episode i couldn’t hell but roll my eyes at what george was saying!! it was just sooo pretentious and obvious! like who actually thought that mike was trying to say that love is dead?!! come one people, love is love and will always be here and something to aspire too... but if you also can’t see that their is a growing notion that relationships can mean very different things to so many different people... and there has been since the beginning of time marriages that aren’t based on love!! but rather based on mutual benifit! look at what kings and queens married for back in the day?! it wasn’t for love but for political gain and keeping their empire strong... people do that today, i’m the same exact way but just with lower stakes... people today marry not always for love but for the fact that they can make their family more financially solvent, for political power, for social status, like what mike was saying isn’t a new concept?! i think it’s obviously from peoples reaction to it still a bit taboo to talk about, but a very honest thing to talk about and that’s at least why i always appreciate what mike us to say because he never talks about something just because it’s popular and the things we just agree to lie to each other about so we don’t make other people uncomfortable!! To me at least, it’s so much more interesting to talk about those things rather than these socially made up things, not saying that marriage or relationships are, because people obviously get into relationships and marriage for live all the time!!! but to flat out deny that people also get married for other reasons is just a bit phony to me! look at bill clunton and hillary and tell me that they haven’t stayed together for reasons beyond love??? it’s seems pretty obvious they stay together for political power, financial reasons, i’m sure family plays a part or at least I hope, but just to say love I feel like is just a bit fairy tale land and not really being honest...
