Nobody checked the forecast? Sudden severe weather that was not seen by on-shore radar capable of sinking a Vessel of that size? Did he not pay for a crew or something? Was he sneaking it out on a random whim without the skipper!?!? Too many things going wrong here.

This yacht has a swinging keel that was raised for shallow waters to offset the massive masts. They are completely unstable in this mode but with sea keeper gyros they'll feel stable until they aren't. They should have left the Anchorage asap but they were possibly not watching the weather or over confidence and she went down like a rock

The boat capsized so most likely it flipped upside down and trapped people inside. The ones that were rescued were probably closer to exits and could escape to the surface before drowning.
