That was enough in previous years but the Packers offensive lines have never been as good as people think in the Rodgers era. As a Bears fan, we used to constantly bitch and moan about the punishment that Cutler would take, rightly so, while being reminded that Rodgers took even more pressures but made heroic throws. And that's the difference. Rodgers is hitting the age wall. He isn't Brady in this respect. He might very well be the most accurate and situationally aware QB to ever play the game, but that is apparently what is first to go for him. He could bounce back but he appears to have lost his magic. And the Packers better recognize.

The thing is that McCarthy should have been gone after 2015 after they ended the season 4-6 and barely made the playoffs. Only problem is that Rodgers and his brilliance won a playoff game to save McCarthy. The next season Green Bay starts 4-6 and looks like they will definitely can McCarthy and Rodgers goes on one of the greatest runs of all time and saves his job again. The next year Rodgers gets hurt and we win 6 games and people give McCarthy the benefit of the doubt because of the injury. No more excuses! The man cannot coach. Rodgers has had plays all year where he buys 10 seconds in the pocket and no one gets open. Whose fault is that?? It is either the receivers, McCarthy, or both. You can't fire receivers so fire McCarthy. I'm sick of seeing Rodgers' career be wasted. It's a shame.
@adrianbuck87726 жыл бұрын
So true. McCarthy is a lucky man. He has a very high paid Job because his teams are successfull. His teams are successfull mainly because of his offense. Stumbled across this video again in January 2021, a day after the Packers beat the Rams to go to another NFC Championship. It's crazy how exactly right you were - the Packers are now much more simplified, but still setting offensive records under Lafleur and his Shanahan-style offence. We have a multi-dimensional run game, a modern scheme using tons of motion concepts and diversified positions, lots of high-percentage passes interspersed with well-timed deep shots - and it works amazing. The o-line has had key injuries, but it hasn't mattered because Rodgers is getting rid of the ball so quickly, so everyone can be relatively interchangeable. Rodgers has been healthy because he hasn't had to run for his life every play. Lafleur has figured out exactly how to fix what Mccarthy was missing using the points in your analysis. He has maximized the things in Rodgers' game that make him the GOAT, and we could be seeing the beginning of a dynasty. The only thing that hasn't changed is the young receivers not making drops though haha.

As a Packers Fan I just want to say thank you for this Video ! The Thing that annoyed me the Most so far this Season is that we run the Ball far to less. We finally have a working Running Game again and especially Aaron Jones is looking pretty good. But McCarthy is refusing to give him the Ball. Our 3rd Down Offense is plain and simply awful this year and that’s mainly due to the fact that we have to go 8+ Yards most of the time on 3rd down Situations. If we would hand the Ball to Jones and Williams more often,we wouldn‘t constantly find ourself in those situations. And it is true that Aaron didn’t make a lot of throws he usually makes and that he often seems to be frustrated. But I think if we would have a better mixture of Running and Passing Plays it would make the Situation for Aaron easier and I think it would decrease his Frustration.

Literally a 22-0 win over Buffalo with 144 yards rushing. You know what happens? Rodgers complains about the Packers playcalling from the coaches. Next week he throws for 4 touchdowns in a Loss vs the Lions and not a peep from him about the playcalling. Take it what you will but its definitely not entirely McCarthy's fault.

I'd sign up to be QB coach or offensive coordinator. I'd just encourage Aaron not to sweat things and try to play hero ball, and I'd try to teach the backup quarterbacks whatever offensive system we were using. I'd try to simplify the system (NFL offenses are already complicated), establish a better run-pass balance, and see if I have players with multiple skillsets (Tyreek Hill, Dante Hall, Cordarelle Patterson, Christian McCaffrey, etc.) and use them effectively (e.g. use RPOs with Lamar Jackson, as well as standard run, pass, and option plays). I could also help out with clock management.

This might sound like a weird idea, but in the Sean McVay era, I feel like the rams have struggled to get wins against the best teams in the nfl. They lost to Minnesota and Philly last year, and Atlanta in the playoffs, and even though they came back they almost looked hopeless against the Saints. Going back to last season their big wins were really only against a crumbling Seattle, Jacksonville, and this year’s chargers Vikings and Packers, which are good wins but not proof of the best team in football title they seem to have gotten imo. Maybe I’m crazy, but I feel like when the Rams run into the cream of the crop the NFL has to offer, they struggle to get wins. If they lose to the chiefs, I would love to see if you could find a through line for why they can’t beat the NFL’s best.

The Mack trade was the straw that broke Rodgers back. He was promised Mack by the FO only to watch him go to a rival who is properly surrounding their QBOTF with all the help he needs - game changing defense, OL, new WRs, TEs, a healthy run game, and a creative play caller. Adam's tweet when the trade went down embodied Rodgers reaction, and after game 1 having to pull out one of the greatest performances of his life drugged off of his ass to win by the skin of his teeth Rodgers was finished. He's mentally shot and wants out until they give him someone willing to call plays that don't rely on him to do all the work, and a FO that will draft him some help for once because he's seen what could have been when a team works with their QB. His bum knee from getting sacked by who he thought would be his teammate was a cherry on top.

imagede zach Have they forgotten about a certain man named Bom Trady, who won 5 Super Bowls and is likely to win a 6th before he retires? This man is a great quarterback, but for reasons different than Mr. Rodgers. Bom uses all his receivers, running backs, and tight ends to catch, and the Patriots actually have a running game that works. This way, Trady only has to make the occasional clutch comebacks that he is known for.

its great watching this video from the future and seeing the packers offense come to life under a new couch. Half way through the season with a 7 and 1 record and the Packers looking dangerous again, looks like McCarthy was the problem and letting him go, was the best thing the Packs did last year.

"Brady has never hadnthese problems" huh? Playcalling no because Bill knows how to coach and put together a staff. But Brady has had young guys who miss assignments and drop tons of ball Aaron Dobson for example. Hes had to deal with tons of WR injuries to where they had to adjust and use RBs as wideouts (and now WRs as RBs lol). Also the play-calling hasn't always been this way I distinctly remember when Aaron Rodgers and the offense was clicking usaw ESPN and NFL Network showing play by play diagrams of how the play-calling was masterful. Just a couple years ago when the Packers made it to the NFC championship it was all because of a high-powered offense

Coaching just is such a massive part of it
@josephmoore54226 жыл бұрын
@@JackRule16 i agree that coaching is inportant but I've seen great players overcome bad coaching for example Tony dungy's teams were poorly coached but succeeded because he had great players on both the Buccaneers and the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts even won a Super Bowl despite him. But like I said before it's just it's finally breaking down the Packers when they're winning the offense is masterful and the play-calling is amazing but all of a sudden when they get smashed Aaron is suffering because of bad play-calling instead of the team is just overall bad. What I'm most disliked though is that people still pick the Packers to beat the Pats because they believed the defense was better, especially on like Undisputed they thought Brady was going to underperform and Aaron explode
@stanshaud61686 жыл бұрын
this Packer offense hasnt been a juggernaut since 2014 so yeah brady has the benefit of being in an amazing offensive scheme that focuses on every minut detail the defense throws at them (Benefit of having a former defensive coordinator as your coach) Rodgers is stuck with a coach who ask him to essiantly play backyard football which yeah 8 times out of 10 works because Aaron Rodgers has the football I.Q and Arm Strength to do it but we are seeing now that this doesn't work anymore because with a young undisciplined team you need a canculated approach to games and when you're Quarterback thinks he isnt getting help he's gonna overcomplicate things for himself so at the end of the day this comes down to trust within the whole offensive unit and between the Quarterback anyd coach and as for Aaron's innacuraccy welp thats just the occasional bad throw that every Quarterback has we tend to harp on it more because Aaron has made a career out of being one of the most accurate Quarterbacks ever it also doesn't help that he's playing with two rookie recievers so they are gonna tend to drop passes more. I feel like the best thing for Aaron Rodgers at this point in his career would really benifit from having a coach like Norv Turner or an Andy Ried or a Sean Peyton because god knows there's only one Bill Bellichick.

@euanperston14906 жыл бұрын
ugh 88 was canned because he was straight up told to take a knee and ran the ball out and fumbled it.....and you act as if other QBs haven't missed reads before? Rodgers is still putting up top 10 numbers and a better season then the so called goat Tom Brady. yet he's on a 4-7-1 team and Brady is on a 9-3 team. McCarthy punted on 4th and 2 with 2 and a bit minutes left with an inconsistent defence and never got the ball back. McCarthy like the video said didn't use jones when he was leading the league and still is in yards per carry. McCarthy didn't use a challenge flag on an obvious non catch call. and judging by how mccarthy got fired in the middle of the season instead of even waiting till the end. kinda shows how much they didn't want to have him on the team.
@mikesparks33986 жыл бұрын
@@euanperston1490 i guess we all have our opinions.100 million dollars for Rodgers, 6 million for coach, who do you think is going to go? Arron Rodgers has as much input on things as anybody, that's why they never really cared much about a running back, Arron likes to play hero ball, its all about him, he throws a lot of passes away just so his interception don't go up. watch and see Rodgers is done, he will never be the same.
