THIS ALBUM. 😐 I don't even know where to start. Studio version, live version, they're BOTH just absolutely spectacular. Raw, gritty, heartbreaking, unique. I've come across VERY few perfect albums in my many decades, but this definitely falls into that category. On IDKA, I love Barrett's ever "loudening" drum intro, and Layne's voice throughout, of course, is so perfectly cast for this compilation, all the way through to the achingly poignant final note of "We're All Alone." 💔 Its hard to believe this album is now nearly *30* years old. WOW. But great music transcends time, no matter the era. Just ask Bach or Beethoven. 😉

YES! Barrett was awesome on the drums, especially with that creeping intro :)
@boomboomerton73949 жыл бұрын
That album not only showed more of Layne's amazing vocals and songwriting but McCready's guitar work and songwriting on the album is brilliant...Layne played guitar on a few...he was actually a good guitarist but of course nothing like a mccready or cantrell but layne's vocals, phrasing, harmonizing, songwriting and lyrics were his trademark....Dude could lay down 4 vocal tracks all accenting a diff. note for harmony or just unison/doubling a part for natural chorus...ex.'s "Again', "Died", "Get Born Again" wow. McCready had a nice impact and influence on my guitar playing in my early to mid teens (29 now been playing 18yrs)...McCready, Frusciante, Hendrix, Gilmour, Clapton, Schenker, Page, Leslie West and Cantrell...those are the guys I hold dear to my heart because they helped me form and develop into my own style and now I love songwriting just as much. The drummer Barrett Martin I think is his name laid some of the most dynamic, powerful and tightest drums down on that album I have ever heard. God bless yall and may tomorrow come to you in peace.

J.T. Bomar Btw "Again', "Died", "Get Born Again" and almost all of AIC has Jerry doing the harmonies so its not all Layne. In fact "Died" and "Get Born Again" were so difficult to record because at that time Layne and Jerry had a falling out. Jerry would come in, lay his vocal tracks in the morning then Layne would come in later in the day to do his. Those two songs were the only AIC songs the producers had to use pro tools for. A lot of people mistake Jerry's voice for Layne. Most people dont even know Jerry sings the verses to Would. Also, Cantrell was the main songwriter for AIC, which is why Mad Season sounds nothing like Alice and Jerry's solo albums do. Layne was primarily a lyricist. The only AIC song he composed was Angry Chair.
