Once Mccreadys eyes close and he goes into his zone, you know for sure you're about to hear something great!

Something I really love about Mike is the he NEVER recreates an album solo. Always does improvise on the spot. That gives you a different taste of the band.

that is how it's supposed to be, as being a performer! just impro maaaaan

Wrigley night 2. I had on a Mad Season shirt. Mike came over to the other side of the stage a finished Alive. Then gave a fist pump.

One of the finest players of my generation. He is worthy of being mentioned in with the likes of all the greats. His work on November Hotel in the Mad Season Live at The Moore is amazing and there aint nobody I can think of from the 90's who could match his skill level and sound.

Cantrell is a better player with an insanely massive distinctive sound. Whether he's playing with Alice in Chains, solo or backing Ozzy (seriously check out mississippi queen from under cover). kzbin.info/www/bejne/inyxhKpnjJmdrNU

Overshadowed by Eddie Vedders insanely good vocals, Mike Mcready is definitely an underrated guitarist no matter how big Pearl Jam is he never gets enough recognition for just how good he is. Dudes also played and recorded with the three best vocalists of the big four.

Totally agree with this. Been a PJ and Eddie fan since Ten but after seeing them in Quebec City in 2016 i walked out of there with McCready holding God status in my mind, what was left of it because he 🤯 a handful of times during that show. One of the all time beasts
@donaldlusk2035 Жыл бұрын
He's overshadowed by Stone's early arrangements and Jeff and Dave's rhythm section. He has to be the most overlooked guitarist ever and he and Jerry were the best to come out of that era.

It takes a lot of balls to do a guitar solo on the twelve string part of the double neck guitar. Mad respect to McCready!

Logan Brown McMelty's solo on "Wake Up" was pretty phenomenal too! Can u believe some ppl knocked him for playing the 12 string? Sad? Anybody heard if he'll b @ the Moore Theater‼️ for Layne Staley Tribute 8-19-2017. Would've been Layne's 50th Birthday

IMHO the best McReady solo of all time was Mad Season’s Slip Away - unfortunately it was without Lane. But Mark Lanagan makes it work. That solo is on another level. Yet I can’t find is anywhere online other than the recorded studio version.

Michael Schenker too. McCready is still among my favorites as an influence...wish he played more les pauls idk Strats can tend to have that same ol sound... I found my weapons of choice my Custom Les Paul Special with dual soapbar p90s, ESP EC1000 and my Custom Gibson SG Jr with a Rock City humbucker and for acoustic Epiphone EJ-200...keep it simple I just run a Ehx Line Selector, Dunlop Wah, Big Muff, Fulltone Fatboost, Visual Sound Phaser and Boss dd-7 stereo delay into 2 of my custom tube amp combos (I customize and mod everything) and the other line goes straight into my Jet City JCA22h with a Laney 2x12" I put an Eminence 12 on the left and a Celestion 12 on the right and I am really glad I got the idea to put 2 totally different speakers in my cab because I have never heard such a sweet tone...I even ran my highly modded epi valve junior v3 into it and it was heaven. That is my full rig and I also have my VHT special 6 , custom Crate v5 combo and a v18 head which is amazing...If anyone is looking for new tubes to try out I have to say Ruby tubes are really good ... I think they are made by JJ Electronics though which are also my favorite el84 but for my 6v6 amps Ruby makes them sing much better.

Overrated as hell. McCready's style contains some of the most generic rock guitar playing I've ever heard.

@BLTspace5 жыл бұрын
I'm sure you're not familiar with all of PJ's albums, there is brilliant stuff in there. If some traditional sounding solos makes ppl "overrated" than 99% of all guitarists ever are overrated.
