It truly is and its been a long time coming. I think many ordinary trainers are starting to feel they've been had by the volume brigade. And many are now willing to at least give HIT a chance. And many are liking the results.

Rest in peace, Mike. Not long ago, I was a 120kg unhealthy fat guy. I randomly watched a KZbin video of Mentzer talking about HIT, and I thought, "Wow, it's really worth spending about 30 minutes each week to get in shape." And if it doesn't work, who cares? It's such a small effort. So, I started a low-calorie diet and worked out as he instructed. It's been about a year and a half, and I weigh about 75 kg now. I feel very good about myself, both physically and mentally, because I was able to reach my goal and hell, it feels good to watch myself in the mirror! I don't even go to the gym. I have my dad spotting me, and I bought 100kg of weights, a barbell, 2 dumbbell sticks, a roller pulley, and a rope. I welded the pulley to my roof, and I hang weights with a rope for my pulldowns and tricep pressdowns. I use a piece of wood to make an incline bench. Here's my workout routine: Day 1 Flat bench DB flyes superset incline press Close grip palms-up pulldowns Deadlifts Day 2 Squats Standing calf raises Sit-ups Day 3 DB lateral raises Bent over DB lateral raises Barbell curls Triceps pressdowns superset dips Day 4 Legs Squats Standing calf raises Sit-ups 4 to 7 days of rest between workouts.

I only got into the gym a year ago to lose some weight. I’m no body builder. But the idea that for fat loss ONLY total calories matter and excess protein makes you just as fat as other calories. That I can still have a piece of pizza or ice cream if I cut calories elsewhere. To make my weight exercise intense and brief. To not overly fuss over particular foods and no food or machine will work magic. That when I bulk excessive protein and calories just isn’t needed, only a small number per day. Thanks for all the wisdom Mike

This is an AMAZING VIDEO, clearly showcasing what Mike meant about "Intensity". It also demonstrates that if you do not strictly care about bodybuilding and you just want to get stronger, you should BE CAREFUL or you'll get injured. You will get considerably stronger if you follow Mike's general advice even without going to failure or even near failure, it will just take you more time.

After Mister Olympia in 1980: a journalist asked Mentzer if he trained 6 hours a day to have that massive physique and Mike responded "..I train 3 days a week, 1 hour a day.." this video CONFIRMS that Heavy Duty is LESS is MORE!!! INTENSITY is everything and NOT volume. Those superseries were "scorching" 🔥

This is Gold 🥇 the only video I’ll ever need I truly believe in this method I read his books and tried this method after being a weight lifter and then a pump chaser and this is by for the most results driven disciplined approach. The discipline comes from changing your mindeste from. More is better to quality over quantity. One working set 4 days with 4 days rest. 4-3-4 per rep. Less reps make them count increase the weight maximize your gains stop being a slave to the gym and master the game.

11:22 List your own weight of the day on the log? I’ve heard Mike Mentzer said he’s against bodybuilders weighing themselves each day they come to the gym, that weight is too inaccurate of a measure for muscle gain.
@HEAVYDUTYCOLLEGE8 ай бұрын
Given that one might be training once every five days or so, a notation in which you keep track of bodyweight is by no means weighing yourself on a daily basis. It’s just simply a point of reference, which may tell you if you are gaining muscle, fat, or both. You, of course, are free not to fill that in if you wish.
