🏆 My Goal 🏆
Is to eliminate the gym bro issues ( working out 5-6 x a week for little to no results)
with the HIT HEAVY DUTY / HIT (High Intensity Training) methods from Mike Mentzer, Dorian Yates & Arthur Jones. you will learn how to maximize your muscle growth & cut down your gym section time while getting stronger & bigger faster.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
👨 About Me
Hi my name is JT & this is my story
I remember going to the gym 5 days & sometimes even every day / 7 days a week for 2-3 hours & even though I achieve a physique better than 80% of gym goers I was not satisfy with it because the amount of effort I was putting in & out the gym.
I was tired of that bullshit so I started to listen to Mike Mentzer & Dorian Yates, implemented what they preach ( workout less, train to failure, eat a well balanced diet & rest to let the growth process happens ) now I’m stronger & bigger than ever working out 3-4 x a week for 45min - 1hr max = 4 hours a week, now I got time for my family, for myself, to growth my business & enjoy life while still looking & feeling amazing & that’s what I want to share with you 🚀

The end really hits. So many people think they're so profoundly unique that they almost miss out on what it means to be human, by alienating themselves from it. Even the part about Dostoyevsky. First of all, what general population Americans are reading that kind of literature today? Almost none. But people not liking facts is truly prevalent in our society.

After discovering Mike Mentzer, the way I live has completely changed. For one, I hit the gym almost every day. Why? Because I can. With High Intensity Training, my workouts are only about 45min long. Despite feeling fatigued and drenched in sweat every time I leave the gym, I don't get DOMS like I used to. I recover so quickly, that I'm almost always ready for the next workout by the next day. And then when it comes to nutrition, the way I've been eating and scheduling my meals has been so methodical that I've actually developed a sense for when I'm lacking something and can quickly fix it. I know that I feel energyless that I didnt get enough carbs and that when my muscles feel tense and warm or jittery (like after a workout) that I need protein. I also know that if I plan on being sedentary for the day, I should back off on the carbs and opt more for healthy fats. After every weight lifting session, I do just 10min of high intensity cardio on a treadmill. Not just because it's good for the cardiorespiratory system, but because I now know that oxygen is vital to the breakdown of body fat into fatty acids that are converted into energy, and that that's about how long you need to be in an aerobic state to kickstart the reaction. Strength wise, I've been increasing my weights almost every other time I enter the gym, and my body fat is falling off so fast that it's very noticeable. Like, within the first month, my shirts fit different.

What was claimed as genetic variation, with regard to fat loss/deposition, is also affected by what you eat. Carbohydrates stimulate the most insulin and consequently fat deposition (kcal for kcal), natural fat the least, with protein about halfway between the two.

The main problem with food choices (as opposed to macros) is that many people have food sensitivities to milk, legumes, wheat or other grains, or some other foods. That means that those food provoke cortisol release for those people which creates an addictive cycle which is also not conducive to anabolism because it causes hormonal insulin resistance and blocks growth hormone. Also, Mentzer's table sugar belief is wrong since fast absorbing fructose has a hormonal influence on the liver resulting in insulin resistance, and fructose also causes 10x as much glycation damage as glucose when it gets into the bloodstream.

@UglyZen
@UglyZen 6 ай бұрын

@NicoProv
@NicoProv 5 ай бұрын
Drop 500 from maintenance. After a month and a half or so if you feel your plateauing, add in 2 days in a row where you go back up to eating maintenance calories or slightly above.The third day go back to the 500 calorie drop. This will trick your metabolism to Rev back up again so when you drop back down 500 calories you'll continue burning fat. Also add in low intensity steady state cardio like steady walking 2-3 times weekly for 30-40 minutes or so. Then build on that up to 4-5 times weekly.this will burn calories and put your body in a caloric deficit further without eating even less calories. Every 3500 calories your burn in a caloric deficit you lose 1 lb of fat. 1 lb of fat is comprised of 3500 calories. So you will lose about 1 lb weekly in a 500 calorie deficit from eating 500 below your maintenance calories. That's 3500 calories over the course of a week. Now if you also burn 500 calories daily doing cardio that's a 1,000 calorie deficit daily and 7,000 calorie deficit weekly. That's 2lbs of fat loss weekly while keeping all your muscle tissue. That's really good!! 8lbs fat loss a month

Are you trying to lose weight because you are too fat? If so, don't stress about getting the percentages of carbs/protein/fat exactly right. Your calorie intake is all that matters, just like he said. Of course, eating a well-balanced diet will keep keep you from getting hungry as often, and provides other health benefits.

You need a gram of protein per pound. According to mikes numbers he would only be consuming 112 grams of protein a day, which is bogus and would lead to muscle loss on a diet

Mentzer underestimated protein intake a bit, but really you only need 1g per 1lb of lean body mass. So 160g a day for 200 lbs and 20% body fat is enough.

Advocated a 25% protein diet. Says he only ate around 1800 calories when dieting. This equates to 112.5 grams of protein a day. He apparently competed at 220 pounds, so this is less than half a gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. Sorry, but this is a bunch of hooplah. No way he consumed so little protein… but he must be if he had so much room in his diet for carrot cake, cookies, and ice cream. There’s so much science now backing up the 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight recommendation. If he’s telling the truth about his diet then it goes to show the power of roids and genetics when it comes to muscle preservation from dieting. Combined with 40 miles of bicycling a day? That would burn around 2,000 calories of energy. So not only is he already in at least a 700 calorie deficit from diet, but more like 2,700 deficit per day. Maybe he did this occasionally - it’s still hard to believe anyone would have energy for this, but apparently he used POWERFUL stimulants.. But I’m sorry, I like Mike, but most of this is a bunch of nonsense and the average natural person with average energy levels would be crippled quickly trying to do something like this.

A calorie is a word used in the science of physics to explain energy measured as "heat" and has nothing to do with nutrition or fat loss. The human body doesn't have any calorie receptors, and there is no way to correctly measure any calories used, or as most of the fake fitness influencers say, burned, during exercise or cardio. The human body runs on "nutrition" not calories.

Thank you for your wisdom on this thread. I wish people understood that food is information and our hormones dictate whether we can use fat for fuel or not if not it is either or. A healthy metabolism can switch from a glucose fuel to a fat fuel . Unfortunately only 12 percent of the worlds population has a healthy metabolism. If insulin levels are elevated fat cannot be used as fuel because insulin wants to conserve energy. Glucagon on the other hand wants to burn the fat with abandon. Carbohydrates without fiber' starches: sugars keep insulin and glucose elevated glucose and glycogen must be depleted to burn fat for fuel Cardio won't burn fat because aerobic exercise is a stress that raises cortisol and activates gluconeogenesis ( the creation of glucose by the human body) which can cause muscle to be catabolised : which is where the body gets the raw materials for this process. Anaerobic exercise,like walking can help to bring glucose down without spiking glucose because there is no oxygen deficit stress. Glucose levels should be approximately below 83 for fat loss

post physique. oh wait. 'calorie' is a system used to estimate a single scalar numeric value to compare across different food types. people have used the system successfully to estimate and track their food needs and homeostatic points, allowing them to go above and below requirements to gain or cut body weight and body fat. it looks like you could stand to give it a shot.

Unfortunately, as brilliant as Mike was when it comes to training to failure and reducing volume while increasing intensity, Mike got nutrition completely wrong. Calorie-in-calorie-out is NOT effective for weight control, and reducing or increasing calories below or above your "maintenance level" as a means for controlling weight was disproven decades ago. The data is conclusive and evidence is overwhelming. Mike was wrong about this. The “calorie in, calorie out” theory is nonsense, and I suspect Mentzer would agree if he were here to see the prevailing and overwhelming proof we have today. If a 200-pound man cut his weekly calorie intake the equivalent number of calories to equal one pound of bodyweight per week, according to Mike, that would mean he'd lose a pound of bodyweight a week. That would be 52 pounds of bodyweight loss per year, in Mike's world. That would mean in 4 years, using that math, that a 200-pound man would disappear from the face of the earth in less than 4 years, using Mike's logic (52 pounds/year x 4 years = 208 pounds weight loss). That is utter nonsense....of course that would not happen, because the way the body functions is not a math equation, and Mike's logic on this issue is highly flawed. Every time you adjust your caloric intake above or below your "maintenance level" you change your metabolic set point. Your set point is where your body maintains its weight within a preferred range of calories. Old-school thinking said your genetics or eating to your your "maintenance level" determined this set point. Evidence has proved this to be wrong. You adjust your set point, and when you eat less you lower your set point threshold. Mike always had difficulty approaching the ripped state of Robby or Zane when they competed against each other, and Mike's diet was the key culprit. Yes, Mike looked great at the 1980 Olympia, but Mike would have looked better had he understood several basic physiological truths about calories and diet. Mike was utterly wrong about the proportion of carbs to fat to protein required for a healthy body. The food pyramid of 60% carbs to 20-30% protein to 10% fat is nothing short of a joke. If anything, the food pyramid should be utterly inverted, with carbs occupying the least amount of consumption in a healthy diet, and fat consumption should be greatly increased. There are many in the keto/carnivore community who have cut their carb consumption down to nearly zero, and are fit, healthy, and muscular without very many carbs. Yes, you need carbs to live, but thru bodily processes such as gluconeogenesis, carbs are created by the body as needed even if carb consumption thru diet is virtually zero. Carb consumption beyond a minor amount - whether its natural carbs or processed carbs - leads to most major heart and arterial diseases, along with Type 2 diabetes. At any given moment, you have about a teaspoon of sugar circulating around your bloodstream. Any more than a teaspoon of sugar in your bloodstream forces the body to release insulin to regulate your sugar levels in your body. Insulin is a storage hormone. Your body desperately tries to remove excess sugar from the bloodstream, and when it does, it stores excess sugar on your hips, on your butt, on your belly, and more importantly, around your vital organs. When your body can no longer keep up with the amount of sugar you intake because it cannot create enough insulin, your blood sugar levels rise and the medical community puts you on drugs to regulate your blood sugar. The food pyramid - as pushed by the medical community and Big Agriculture - recommends 60% of your daily caloric intake be carbs. A 2000 calorie diet means consuming about 1200 calories of carbs per day - the sugar equivalent of about 35 teaspoons of pure sugar a day. Think of how overwhelming it is for your body to try to bring down the sugar content of your blood - normally about a teaspoon of sugar, if you are shoving 35 teaspoons of sugar a day down your throat....and that's not even close to how much sugar the average American consumes in a day. The reason Big Agriculture pushes cereals and grain in the food pyramid is not due to nutritional needs, its because cereals and grains are where Big Agriculture make their money....and where Big Pharma profits from the diseases caused by the over consumption of carbs and processed foods. Thinking "healthy carbs" like whole grain breads are "better for you" than processed white bread is another fantasy - within thirty minutes of consumption your body has converted either into sugar that flows into your body's bloodstream, and overwhelms any potential insulin response to control it. No wonder why you can't turn on a tv for 10 minutes without seeing ads for insulin meds to regulate your A1C flooding your channels....we are shoveling sugar into our bodies so much that heart disease is the no. 1 killer in the western world, and carb consumption is the root cause. Mike was wrong to push carbs as heavily as he did. Worse than that, Mike was even more wrong to gloat about consuming processed carbs, like cake, muffins, pancakes, etc. He really didn't have a clue about proper diet when he competed, and worshipping our heroes as if they were infallible is a mistake for the bodybuilding, diet and nutrition community. Mike was one of the most brilliant bodybuilders ever when it came to training philosophy. While I don't believe in every single claim he made, I believe he was much more right than wrong about training intensity, training duration, how a muscle grows, etc. But when it comes to diet and nutrition, Mike was completely out to lunch, so to speak - and this is coming from someone who respected and idolized Mike as a thinker and bodybuilder. Question everything, and research beyond Mike for dietary knowledge.

This is just the same reasonable approach, not one, but more than a thousand studies have scientifically proven that there is a direct relationship between the number of calories and weight loss. Our body is like a solid fuel mechanism that emits as much heat and light as it is loaded with energy in the form of fuel. The laws of physics say that energy cannot come from nowhere and disappear into nowhere. Yes, Mike, although at some points he presented outdated, irrelevant information. (It's important to understand that back then bodybuilders didn't have the level of knowledge they have now.) But its main basis is based on the fact that you need to consume less energy from food than you spend in a day.
