Yeah this protein myth is perpetuated by the meat and supplement industries to keep the money coming in. I went from 145lbs at 5 8" to 182lbs with 17 inch arms and a 48 inch chest. Without ever eating more than 120 grams in any given day. Mentzer was absolutely right..
@Andrew-el8xi3 күн бұрын
People drink too many protein shakes and wonder why they get fat and dont workout hard enough because they look at a roid monkey on the label and think thats the result of the product ... eat protein is far better and the right amounts

This is also safer for the shoulder joint as when the weight is placed over the shoulder joint, unlike with a wider grip, there is less of a moment arm, and therefore less torque put on the joint.

mike menzter was meth and crack head . He had alot of demons. And most his theories been ok but do not really work. Mike did traditional body building to build up his base then used saucy gear hard and grew, and died young. His forever changing theories on hiit was used to make money , that's it.

He is wrong about carbohydrates. People who started doing the carnivor diet, as in, quitting carbohydrates, who were significantly mentally ill, depressed , shizofrenic.. diabetes etc etc, saw significant improvement in their ( mental) health. Me included. Its hard to weed out the bs from whats real, with all the fake info out there, so i dont blame him.
@marioremondino98375 күн бұрын
Take this with a grain of salt on carb info. Too much carbs cause type 2 diabetes. This was discovered in the 1800s and was called “food sick” before diabetes. And it was from excess carbs and sugars. Pretty sure in the 1800s folks were hella active. Carbs were also popular during winter as meat and veggies were not as available. With body building then yes carbs are important

I disagree with the excess calories, always leading to weight gain. Type one diabetics who are void of insulin can eat thousands of calories of fat and protein, and not gain any weight, until they eat carbohydrates and have to inject insulin. The more calories they eat of carbs the more insulin they would need the more weight they would gain. But the body can’t store energy as fat when insulin is low, so an excess of protein and fat if your insulin is low, will not result in waking because that’s where your ketones come from which is just fat energy that wasn’t stored was burned up, metabolized, and then urinated out and breathed out through your breath.

Does anyone actually take 4 days of rest? I’m genuinely curious, I’ve been incorporating these concepts with great results. But I like to go to the gym 4 times a week and make sure the same muscle isn’t trained more than twice a week. One hard set of each exercise.

It’s a shame Mike and his bother passed away from illness at an early age like my bodybuilder friends. Everything Mike said, can work if you use PEDs. If you are clean it doesn’t work. I’m bigger than he could ever have hoped to be. I competed and won NPC shows and the AAU Mr. West Coast by using high sets , reps and very light weight. I was a heavy weight and it freaked my friends out I could match them for muscle. I’ve used that training with every group and age of people. Heavy duty just ends in injury. Most of the pros using it have had a major injury training. Still, Mike, Ray and Casey all went as far as they could. I respect anyone that goes on stage.
