@@ChrisAnderson1986 Would You rather work 2 to 3 days a week to make $100,000 a year or 12 hours a day, seven days a week to make the same? If a guy wants to be in the gym every day for two hours and look in the mirror at himself while watching the pump occur second by second then have at it. Many people just want to get some results in the least amount that is necessary While pursuing other things in life with the extra time.

One of the finest physiques ever to walk the planet, and so handsome, articulate, affable and knowledgeable. It just doesn't seem right that so fine a man should die so young! About 40 years ago I was running past Muscle Beach in Venice, and there was Mike Mentzer in all his glory. I exclaimed, "Hey, you're Mike Mentzer! Looking good!" I support your Channel. I think the most people just want to sell exercises and products tho it it nice to see that some people listen to what HE has to say.

Absolutely fascinating. Before pseudo-science and debunking entered the lexicon, Mike Mentzer was debunking pseudo-science.

I've followed a metaphorical statement made by Mike in regards to achieving muscle failure for decades now, which is "Do you wanna drive to New York or fly?"

It was around 1980 that I competed in the Mr Minnesota contest. And Mike was the guest poser. The night before, they had a get together which ended up being a Q&A with Mike. The only thing I remember about the Q&A was his response to how much protein you needed. He claimed around 60 grams.. chicken fish, etc. He actually looked normal size in street clothes but when he posed it was way different. He was awesome. And his listed height of 5-8 is probably close. I stood next to him backstage and with no shoes he was a little shorter than I was. And I was 6-0.

Excuse me? You need WAY more than 60 grams of protein. Or are you talking per meal?

I wish I would have seen this all those years ago -- spent too many years trying to be like Arnold -- never took the roids, but I always thought I could be that way if I worked hard enough. Of course that's not true, and I could have spent all those years just enjoying weightlifting for it's own sake -- true wisdom in this video.
