@Unkn0wnGuy
@Unkn0wnGuy 10 жыл бұрын
spoon8656 Hitting for the sake of hitting is totally strategic because when you have the puck and you are afraid to get hit by someone you will give the puck away... possibly leading to a goal. This is called "hearing footsteps" and believe me, it works. Keep in mind I'm referring to legal hits. A perfect example is to dump the puck in and make the defense pay... and hopefully they'll cough up the puck.

JR was right. His head was NOT HIT. But as we find now a days that you don't have to get hit in the head to get a concussion in this league. NHL hits are 17% harder then NFL hits. Look at Lubomir Visnovsky, hit in the shoulder, hasn't played since october with a concussion.

I love when Jeremy says he is surprised with Milburys opinion...especially the way you played the game. Hit the nail right on the head Jeremy. Milbury is the guy that climbed over the glass and beat up a spectator with the guys own shoe. Jeremy knows what its like to get hit in the head. Derian Hatcher went head hunting on Roenick, he jumped off the ice and smashed his head into the glass and broke his jaw. It was dislocated and broken in multiple places, and eight of his teeth were broken. He should have mentioned that. Hatcher only got 7 games for that.

@ChristWafer
@ChristWafer 12 жыл бұрын
I first agreed with Milbury. After further review, Letang had just moved the puck forward and was hit cleanly. If he hadn't touched the puck, it's a dangerous interference penalty. If the concussion results from a clean hit, it's rather silly to blame the player for a head snapping back as the cause. Of course, pulling a Weber move like intentionally slamming Zetterberg's gourd into the glass is an intent to injure that can easily injure. But, Letang was hit body-on body. Great hit!

I love JR but Mike is right... Those are malicious hits that could potentially kill a person.... Players that deliver those hits are pussies... I'm an old school hockey fanand I appreciate physical hockey but those clowns are going full force to the head, guys like that have no place in the game. I understand JR's position tho - yea you should keep your head up (and perhaps if you cant you shouldn't be playing in the NHL), but at the same time a player shouldn't have to expect his head to get knocked off... Those hits were an attempt to injure and there is no room in sports for anyone that wants to hurt another player.

How is Milbury still on NBCSN? He just repeats what the other guys say and whines the whole segment...

Actually I see the opposite, Milbury says the obvious things people are seeing & thinking & doesn't worry about pc,making or losing friends,ruffling feathers of suits..he calls out big names when they suck,calls out the game destroying officiating,the weak coaches..is he a bonehead ? yep..but he initiates all of the unpopular commentary & the others jump on(mildly) as soon as he opens the door..I hope he stays on & so do the networks there's a reason he's still there.

Why do NBC & CBC keep Milbury around? As an analyst, he's a total goof.

There isn't anything worst then two people talking at the same time. Give it a rest. Don't forget about the hard plastic elbow pads. They both should be fired.

I know this one is old and I read through a few pages of the comments. I was disappointed to not find any mention of the shoulder pads being too hard nor did anyone mention that the rule of thumb is first guy in takes the body.

Apparently all of the dirty hits and goonery that Milbury did when he was a player don't count. Give me a break you freaking hypocrite.

Milbury...the GM that made at least 5 out of 10 of the worst trades in hockey history. He offered his brain to try to learn the effects of CTE but when he brought it into the Dr's in a grocery store bag it confirmed to the world that he never had one to begin with. No one should be surprised by any of this one bit.
