@Unkn0wnGuy10 жыл бұрын
spoon8656 Hitting for the sake of hitting is totally strategic because when you have the puck and you are afraid to get hit by someone you will give the puck away... possibly leading to a goal. This is called "hearing footsteps" and believe me, it works. Keep in mind I'm referring to legal hits. A perfect example is to dump the puck in and make the defense pay... and hopefully they'll cough up the puck.

I love when Jeremy says he is surprised with Milburys opinion...especially the way you played the game. Hit the nail right on the head Jeremy. Milbury is the guy that climbed over the glass and beat up a spectator with the guys own shoe. Jeremy knows what its like to get hit in the head. Derian Hatcher went head hunting on Roenick, he jumped off the ice and smashed his head into the glass and broke his jaw. It was dislocated and broken in multiple places, and eight of his teeth were broken. He should have mentioned that. Hatcher only got 7 games for that.

@ChristWafer12 жыл бұрын
I first agreed with Milbury. After further review, Letang had just moved the puck forward and was hit cleanly. If he hadn't touched the puck, it's a dangerous interference penalty. If the concussion results from a clean hit, it's rather silly to blame the player for a head snapping back as the cause. Of course, pulling a Weber move like intentionally slamming Zetterberg's gourd into the glass is an intent to injure that can easily injure. But, Letang was hit body-on body. Great hit!

I'm an old school hockey fanand I appreciate physical hockey but those clowns are going full force to the head, guys like that have no place in the game. I understand JR's position tho - yea you should keep your head up (and perhaps if you cant you shouldn't be playing in the NHL), but at the same time a player shouldn't have to expect his head to get knocked off... Those hits were an attempt to injure and there is no room in sports for anyone that wants to hurt another player.
