Sounds a fair bit like something Jethro Tull might have put out. It's curious that Oldfield and Ian Anderson never collaborated on something like this. There is still time. Just imagine how incredible this would be with Anderson's flute flowing in and out! Thanks for posting, phideaux93.
@Ensign_Cthulhu9 жыл бұрын
Kintail5 Other Mike collaborations that suggest themselves that never happened - Enya (but at least one Mike album was produced by Rob Dickins); Enigma (Michael Cretu actually produced one song on Wind Chimes, so maybe Mike influenced him??)

Whatever Mike does is excellent. Undoubtedly, real instruments will never be replaced when it comes to a misician's ear, but the tune is just as great as the rest of Mike's work.

Must admit I like it, and I'm sure it's not on my copy of L & S. Sounds like a mix of Portsmouth and In Dulci Jubilo and Sailors Hornpipe all rolled into one. Very catchy!!
@WALLACE9009 Жыл бұрын
de que disco es esto?
@Ensign_Cthulhu11 жыл бұрын
Agree, but it's definitely a return to the Portsmouth/In Dulci Jubilo phase in the way it sounds. I can live with the synth.

Where does it come from, never heard before but I love it
@dunebasher197113 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'm too much of an old fart, but although this is much more interesting than most of Mike's musical output since he started his "chillout phase", I think it would sound even better if it used real instruments in place of all the software ones. The guitar is probably the only non-computer instrument on the track.

nelson soucasaux, it's a bonus track from the light and shade album released in 2005.
@nelsonsoucasaux27515 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for the information, jack jc. Regards. P.S.: Curious, I have "Light and Shade" - the original double CD - and don't have this tune. And it's out of the style of the album, it reminds me something very, very old, from the 70's or early 80's. But once again many thanks !
@jackjc14475 жыл бұрын
@@nelsonsoucasaux2751 , if i recall correctly,it was a bonus track on the japanese issue,and true,it definitely doesn't fit musically with the music of light and shade,it sounds more like an outtake from qe2 album.
@nelsonsoucasaux27515 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's very common to find bonus tracks that don't fit to the original release. To my view that's a problem with many reissues. To my ears, this track, given the kind of sound, seems to me from the Discovery period. All the best !
