For everyone shitting on Patton and his opinion of Wolfmother... I implore you to check out the interview vid where the singer of Wolfmother is going on about "WE'RE the musicians, YOU'RE the FAAANS." He comes across as more of a douchebag, condescending, egotistical jerkoff than Patton could ever be... all the while, not even possessing a small fraction of the talent and creativity Mike has. Music is subjective and is all a matter of opinion. Mike is just as entitled to that opinion as we all are. However, even though music is subjective, some people do have a better gauge on what can be considered as 'shit' or 'good'. These are the people who tend to share Patton's opinion, not because "Patton said it, so I agree", but because they know enough about music to know that Wolfmother are indeed a 'shit' band.

Let's put it together!!! A superband with... vocals: Mike Patton (our hero) guitar: Buckethead (Mike's friend) bass: Les Claypool (Bucky's friend) drums: Marco Minnemann (a legend)

Perfect! I was also thinking both Page Hamilton (Helmet) guitar/backing vocals , Justin Broderick (Godflesh) guitar/backing vocals as well as B.H. .Les Claypool would also be my choice for Bass.

When I first heard/saw wolfmother play I said to myself "oh yeah theyre going for the whole psychedelic 70's rock thing " and I didn't expect them to last or become as big as they did which was very surprising as their music was very unoriginal. That's the point Mike is making as his opinion is that music should always be seeking to bring something new. It was always the challenge of every meaningful and serious musician and now you could just copy and be lazy and still be huge.

Who gives a shit what Mike Patton likes anyway. People need to learn how to think for themselves. If you like a certain band than good for you. Don't let some fuck face make you feel bad. Not everyone likes the same music. But the key here is to think for yourself people.

Nice!! I'll have to check him out (RIP), Thanks!!! It's wonderful that Faith No More, while on the outside might seem like an exclusive heavy metal/funk outfit that only fits people who like that genre, can hit music lovers of all kinds. To me, Patton's voice is kind of like Jeff Beck's guitar playing, it goes places you've never heard, and can fit any "style", or create it's own!

Mike is not in the spotlight because he chose not to and disbanded FNM the moment he felt they it hold him back artistically. which sucks because they were the best band ever, but i everyone who knows what Mike is all about respects that decision. Mike didn't care about being a rockstar, he wanted better. he's the modern day Zappa.

@IsraJones That's really what it looks like to me. I can see him in some old cartoon, sitting on a motorcycle with his gang behind him, picking on on some poor stoner kid. "You suck, Wolfmother!" "Huh-huh, you tell 'em, boss! This little punk ain't got nuthin' on you!". He starts hating on this one band, and you all file in and rain shit from his heavenly palace onto them. And I'd hardly say that two albums is "jack shit", by the way. It's less than Patton, but it isn't "jack shit".
