I think every one of your fans would love to see you play as a guest in Metallica BUT they'd ultimately love to see you fill in, full time, in RUSH!!!!! Lets face it, there's only one man who could replace Neil!

Ohhh Mike, I can´t imagine your magic fillings, your insuperable work with the Hi-hat, splashes and staxx in a Metallica song. That would be so great!! Your versions of Zebra, Queen, Yes, Led Zep, Rainbow, Elton J... are amazing. Your work is a milestone in modern music for your creativity and respect to the instrument. No need to say I admire you since the first DT album until now.

60s Beatles, Who, Stones, Hendrix, Doors 70s Yes, Genesis, Floyd, Clash, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Elton John, Eagles, Kiss, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Van Halen. 11/17 British (and that includes Elton Mike!). Obviously it depends on the genre one listens to, but I find it fascinating how the UK had such a disproportionate influence.

I grew up emulating Neil Peart. Unfortunately I didn’t discover Mike Portnoy until about three years ago. There is no better drummer than Mike Portnoy. And he seems like a really cool guy. Someone told me they happened to meet him out and about, and that he was down to earth and easy to talk to. And damn! What a drummer! Just freekin amazing!
