I like how all rock/metal bands are connected somehow and one support each other. Pantera is one of my favorites of all time and seeing Portnoy using Vinnie (RIP) as an inspiration is super cool.

6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence is one of the best DT albums IMHO. I love specially The Test That Stumped Them All... which I learnt to play on drums (more or less) after lots of listenings. It's Really fun due to constant changes signature.

imo their best post labrie is fucked (lmao) era. Awake still remains untopped imo... if you think that album came out in 94 is just unbelievable. It's a pioneering album... those once in a lifetime thing you could never recreate no matter how hard you try.

Wow. I hadn't know about his Alcoholism, much less his sobriety. So cool to hear that he's in recovery. I'm newish to DT. So cool.

Mike Portnoy should technically be dead, During the "Awake" tour he was doing lines of Coke before every show and just getting drunk beyond belief.

after the last step was recorded he said "we should celebrate with a bottle of champaign. kinda funny :D

He always says that the song is brutal, but the intro is not that relentless. Still one of their best tunes, for sure.

Brutal? I don't think so. Mike is great drummer, but nothing about dream theatre is "brutal"

Patrick Wagener, this song is pretty brutal instrumentally for Dream Theater. Vocally... perhaps not so much.
