This guy gets it. When did reporters stop being fun and creative in their jobs? I wish the news had more stuff like this.

When this came out on VHS it was an event. I mean everywere you could buy it. From hardware stores to grocery stores were selling this movie. It was crazy how much this movie was being sold everywhere. Only other movie that had this event feel for its VHS release was Jurassic Park.

Titanic's VHS release was insane too. They did midnight releases for it. My parents went down to Walmart (I think) at midnight to get a VHS of Titanic. They said it was crazy at the store. Also, Blockbuster had a whole section of the store dedicated to Titanic for those that wanted to rent it. It was a wall of Titanic. I witnessed it within the first week. My family went in there to rent other movies, but we saw the massive stock of Titanic copies.

I just scored an original Batman VHS display as seen in the video at 45 seconds. Brand new, still in the box that would have gone to the retailer. I've been picking up copies of Batman on VHS for a few years now when I can in the hopes I'd eventually find one of the displays.

Minnesota's Prince based the "Batdance" 1989 #1 hit on the 1966 Batman theme. Batman (1989) is dark but not dead serious, has a lot of humor, it's just a Jersey-New Yorker kind of humor, not the 1966 Batman and Robin "Holy guacamole" milktoast silliness. Jersey boy Robert Wuhl's newsman Knox has a sarcastic wiseguy Jersey-New Yorker sense of humor and Jersey accent, Jersey boy Nicholson's Joker has a gleefully cruel cackling spirit of sadistic fun and a lot of humor, even though Nicholson's Joker's humor is morbid, hateful and tasteless. "Jackie Boy" Nicholson even said that's what he liked about it, "What I liked about the Joker is that he has no taste in his humor."

It really wasn’t until the Dark Knight Trilogy that the general audience shifted away from the Adam West version as the “default” Batman in the public eye
@SomeYouTuber19932 жыл бұрын
You act like there playing the entire film with the original 1966 theme playing. This is literally a news reporter making a funny skit for the vhs release of the film. He’s literally playing around in a Batman costume for cry out load. where your sense of fun, this isn’t The Dark Knight Trilogy.

How far we've gotten away from every news report on comic book movies starting it out with "Holy this" and "Holy that", nowadays superhero movies are billion dollar franchises treated with dignity.
