Bill needed to go for a variety of reasons and the fact no one wanted the "GOAT" coach shows he fell a long way the last few years So my issues isn't firing him. My issue is "we're going to move on from Bill" and except for Bill its the same. A HC who played and coached for Bill-as much coaching as Mayo ever did, and it wasn't much, and the entire 'draft staff" was his including Wulf. So you took a falling organization and kept everyone involved in the fall except the main guy. Any other team that releases a HC cleans house from top to bottom. It truly is amazing how much worse than last year. They went from one of the worst loser qbs I've ever seen to one with great talent and yet they aren't even close to winning. Last year the defense played hard no matter how bad the offense was, and now they look like they aren't even trying. They have no clue how to pressure a qb and can't force a turnover. This team is so much worse than last year while the qb is so much better. And they had a very, very weak schedule this year. This was truly hard to do.

They can’t bring Mayo back. The only way to fix this is to tear this down and bring in an experienced executive to run football operations and pick the coaching staff and player personnel people. This is not a quick fix,one year turnaround situation. This team is bereft of talent at every position. I’m 60 years old so I remember before the “dynasty “ when the home games were not televised locally because they could not sell out the games.You have to be realistic about just how bad this organization is right now. It's not quick, but it's not bereft of talent. That's only how it looks when the coaching is this bad. Still, they have plenty of cap space, a good gm can overhaul 1/3 the roster every year. They have the qb, the hardest thing to find by far. A good gm will be knocking on the door in 3 years.

A “good” GM may be able to overhaul 1/3 of the roster but the Patriots don’t have one of those. And people thinking that they can just bring in all these star players with all the cap money they have are ignoring the fact that these types of players do not want to come here even if you over pay for them.

Rookie GM Eliot Wolf handling this draft does not ooze confidence. I'd hire Scott Pioli and Bill Parcells to come in, assess the existing talent and barter the no. 1 draft capital for an offensive line. Experience matters.

My best guess on how Kraft will deal with Mayo is how he dealt with Pete Carroll. Head coach from 97-99 and the team only got worse under his tenure. Like it or not I bet Mayo has 2 more seasons to turn it around. Of course, Kraft would have to be blind or deliberately negligent to ignore the team this off season. I’d hire Mike Vrabel!

The condition of the O line and the drafting woes are horrendous. Some of it you could see coming from miles away with some of the draft picks that were way out of left fieldand drafted way ahead of where scouts had them projected.

If Mayo & Wolf return we better not waste the 1sr pick in the draft. If not bring in Vrabel as not sure who else would want to come to us. Free agents will not come to us, unless we overpay but then they won’t be the best frees available. Vrabel elevated his players in his last job, he’s a former player & not a coach under BB.

Fire Mayo, Fire Elliot Wolf, Hire Mike Vrabel before someone else does. Trade the pick back to the Raiders or another team that needs a QB. Take a top OL or WR and add more draft assets. If Bob Kraft and the team don’t go spend money to bring in premier talent like Tee Higgins (no team has more cap space) then it’s because they’re not trying to make this team good.

Totally agree - the media is too enamored with Hunter playing both sides - which won't happen in the NFL. Word is, he's a better CB than WR. PAY a good GM to come here and trade back...take 2 O-linemen with the first three picks and one WR. Wolf needs to go. Just because daddy was a great GM doesn't mean he his. A house cat would have taken Maye at #3 - the rest of the draft was a complete whiff. The Ladd McConkey trade (a Edelman/Welker clone) was a fire-able offense. Mayo somehow managed to make an already bad team WORSE. The players are just going thru the motions - they have all the enthusiasm of the bataan death march. Not a HINT of improvement in the 2nd half... When you're blown out every other week, that is an obvious indication of a team NOT prepared...Mayo and his staff can't get these guys ready to play in just 1 week - which is also a fire-able offense. Unfortunately, I have no doubt doddering old woke fool Kraft will remain silent UNTIL Vrabel is hired elsewhere - then leak the lie he was interested in talking. Mayo remain as unqualified DEI head coach, Van Pelt sacrificed to make it look like they're 'shaking things up!' - maybe Covington too, though he may get the same pass as Mayo. But no coaches will want to come here, and coaching WAS a big problem this year. Sorry, NO WAY does this team win just 3 games (against bottom-feeders) if Vrabel was HC. And Mayo is an embarrassment in front of the mic...

Front office, coaching staff and most of the roster needs to be replaced We have the first pick, the most cap space and we have a legit stud player on each side of the ball to build around. It’s time for Robert Kraft to go back to what made him a legendary owner. It starts by hiring a real head coach with a proven track record that will bring in competent offensive and defensive coordinators. Second, hire a GM that has a proven track record and allow the NEW HC and GM to draft and execute the 2025 NFL draft. Third, open your wallet and allow the NEW HC and GM to bring in free agents, undrafted players, and other resources and finally just get the hell out of the way and let them cook!!!

Bill the GM ruined this team. I think he's one of the best coaches in football history - particularly on D - but his drafting over his last 7-8 years was horrific. Nobody seemed to notice when they had Brady and were still winning BUT, as soon as Brady left - along with FAs too expensive for Bill to re-sign - the wheels started coming off, and FAST
