Truth is, looking back after AI invalidates our current system, we'll wonder why we ever twisted the reasoning to justify how we've been doing things as being positive. Yes, AI is going to out compete the vast majority of all workers, we cannot stop it! So guess what, our only option is to figure out how we'll adapt. People are driven to find productive things to do, meaningful ways to help their family and community. They'll find new forms of "work" that will be far more fulfilling than what we're forced to do today, just to survive! The problem is capitalism, and how we justify distributing basic resources to people. AI will force us to change that, as the alternative will be FAR worse.

In the early 2000s I was talking with friends who worked as agents for airlines. They were all raving about how the new self check in kiosks were going to make their jobs so much easier and better. My response was, no, they are going to make your jobs redundant, and you will lose those jobs. Machines don't take sick days, require a vacation, need to be paid, don't need health insurance, don't require bathroom or even lunch breaks, and can work 24 hours a day. Rightly so, companies have a duty to share holders to make as much profit as they can. So naturally thy will replace human workers with machines whenever and wherever they are able.

"Machines don't take sick days" Actually, they do, but instead of calling it a "sick day" we call it a "breakdown" or "failure". "require a vacation" Again, instead of calling it a "vacation", we call it "preventative maintenance", "upgrades", "overhauls", or "repairs". "need to be paid" No, but the company that makes them demands payment. Also the parts that have be routinely replaced, maintained, or updated aren't free. And many software companies nowadays have moved to a subscription based business model, this is especially true of AI. So, in a way, the do need to be paid. " don't need health insurance" Well, they do need people to work on and maintain them and those people get paid very well. "don't require bathroom or even lunch breaks, and can work 24 hours a day." But again, they do have to go down for updates and maintenance from time to time. Usually, this is planned, but sometimes it isn't.

If you think the AI that's publicly available is amazing just imagine what big tech companies like google, facebook, twitter etc must have. I'm pretty sure google already has it's own channels hosted by AI passing itself off as human. AI is going to end Hollywood and human creators on youtube. Welcome to dystopia.

@@susanryan3479 I know. That was my first introduction and they've been at that for a few years now. I was more talking about the video faking aspect of AI now though. I'm pretty sure google already has fully AI channels that pretend to be human. It saves them from having to share ad revenue with a human creator. I won't care much about censorship in the comments once the videos are all google AI videos. I won't be watching those.

@@susanryan3479 Yep, it just happened again. The google AI moderator just shadowbanned a reply I left you. It could be deleted, but it's probably just shadowbanned. I don't feel like sorting by newest and scrolling 600 comment down to look for it though. Once google stops promoting human made videos in favor of their own AI made videos I'm leaving here for good.
