I bought my 65 red Falcon sprint in November 69 when I came back from my Air Force assignment in the Phillipines and was assigned to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma. I am a ford guy and went car shopping at Fred Jones Ford in Oklahoma city. I found my 65 sprint for $1195 and after getting the okay from squadron commander I bought it. The payment was $55 a month and I still own it. My new Wife drove it and my kids grew up riding in it. We retired it in 88 and my wife passed away in 94 so I will never sell it. I retired at 70 and began my rebuild 6 years ago. I am modifying it to the way I always wanted it to be. It,s a good hobby and my boys tease me that I,ll probably be in a wheel chair by the time its done. I am spending way more than it will ever be worth but at my age thats fine. My boys will be able to drive me around and it will be in the family long after i am gone.

Nice ol Falcon! Nice story too! I really wish i would have kept one of the Fords of my youth, oh well. We drove them hard and used them up, well i did anyway, lol. There was always another or so we thought:(

Hi Tony I just found your channel, I liked this story about Mikes Falcon and working on it with your dad. I didnt get a chance to do this with my dad, but I do still have the 1971 Falcon XY station wagon that mum and dad bought brand new back in 71. In fact this is my favourite model of Falcon, I have three station wagons and a ute. As I live in NewZealand I dont expect a visit any time soon haha. Cheers from NZ, Phil

Awesome! I'm building a 302 for my 1963 Falcon - what headers/exhaust manifolds did you find to fit? It's pretty tight in there :) Also trying to find a solution using the gt40p heads I have...
@TonysFordsandMustangs Жыл бұрын
This car has a 289 with the factory manifolds. He has owned the car since the age of 15 and dropping headers in there was never really a consideration.

I was 13 when my dad bought a 65' Futura Hardtop for $500. The car was garaged and sat for 38 years. Now it's in my garage, and I've been slowly fixing it up. Finally got it running, unfortunately dad passed away before he could see it running again:-(
