Mike good thing you didn’t go into operating room nursing as a career… telling the mechanic he needs a pipe wrench is like telling a surgeon he needs a scalpel. 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏🎉🎉👏😎

Shawn, I know that love / hate relationship with pipe wrenches especially when adjusting steering links. That was the end of one of mine, it's now somewhere in the woods behind the house I had. It slipped and jacked me in the mouth / jaw a lot of profanity and flight over house into woods. Mike nice to see more work on the off-road camper, don't get overwhelmed with the process let it flow. Setbacks are not always a bad thing it may be giving you more time to make it work better the first time.

The camper is coming along nicely. I'm 6'4, I have enough trouble in my house with hitting my head on things. I could not imagine being in that trailer for any amount of time. would need a motorcycle helmet. which would give me even less room. It's a vicious cycle.

7:24 Better...closer...warmer...That's it! Mike, consider a DC/DC onboard battery charger for your trailer batteries. This way you will have some control over the current going from the Deathstar to the trailer batteries. Something like the Renogy 12V 20A model. I'd post a link, but YT will just delete the comment because they don't want people looking at things other than YT.

We stopped by the shop yesterday a little before 5pm after checking out the confluence via Elephant Hill. The sign said closed but I know you were in there! Why are you hiding from me? 😂 The fire pot was going in the lot. That's okay, I got a couple of pics and refrained from harassing you guys. We stopped by a couple of weeks ago at the beginning of our trip but we were too early that day. Oh well, maybe next year.

Actually Centers’s the steering box between locks, then bring tires in or out to match, then using the same mark from and rear of tire measure the distance between front and rear of tire, bring the front. 1/16” in compared to the width of the back of the tires.

At 06:45 Shawn, maybe the camera is goofy but the passenger rear tire slants inward at the bottom. Then another view the rearend looks like the drive axle off of a VW Bug. Thanks, Shawn, for showing us the innards of a throttle body and explaining the parts. Mike, are you sure you only want to put lock washers and a standard nut to hold down your pump? IMO I would think a lock nut would keep it from rattling loose.

Something easy to check on the steering. Is measure the hydraulic ram ends, to make sure you're centred. Mike, do you have anything planned for holding the camper axle centrally? So it doesn't crab when going down the road.

@UmmmmmmmWhat2 ай бұрын
I know it's possibly really not needed, but since that axle has a differential, wouldn't a high voltage battery + electric drive motor on that trailer axle = unnecessary offroad trailer digs. 😂

Looks like premium Swedish Bahco Ergo pipe wrenches, as a Swede it's the gold standard. They don't lock but with hardened jaws and the correct adjustment, once you pull down they bite in and work to close so you don't need to push them closed. As long as the work material isn't too soft they'll grip until the pliers bend to a pretzel

Hey guys! I used to do alignments years ago and occasionally we'd have to do trailers. I used two thin pieces of sheet metal big enough for the tire patch, apply a liberal coating of grease between the two plates and that allowed the tires to move without binding, throwing measurements off. Camper build is looking good Mike!! Send a shout out to Justin and ETHYL for me! Thanks for another vid that I couldn't stand....psych!!!! Love every one you put up! Thank you and peace out!!!
