To be fair, Mike has beaten Efren, more than any other Player... It took Efren a lot o' years before he could beat Mike... Efren still has more respect for Mike than any other Player... That says a lot... If Mike hadn't taken his hiatus, there's a good chance that Efren would never have beaten him... Efren never stopped playing, this gave him a very serious edge... Both are 2 o' the greatest Players that ever lived...

Fun game idea: Take a drink every time the announcers mention the slow nap cloth.
@SetemkiaFawn
@SetemkiaFawn 4 ай бұрын
Actually, you should take a nap each time they comment about how slow the cloth is. It's like my God, these are professional pool players. They take a few shots come and get accommodated to the table and they know how fast the cloth plays. And we can see how it's playing and we don't need to be reminded every other shot.

The commentators keep saying he's not talking to anyone... sure looked to me like he was talking primarily to Jim Rempe. And honestly, from what I see, "The Mouth" is much more accurately descriptive of Mike than "Captain Hook". He's constantly rubbing his good shots and/or bad shots in Loree Jon Jones' face. He's happy when he's making good shots and whining when he's playing bad. Poor sportsmanship, if you ask me. Imagine if you had to play someone like that every day. It would wear you down. How could you enjoy the game playing against someone who constantly whined every time you left him bad or when he left himself bad and rubs it in your face every time he makes a good shot? He's a great player! One of the greatest! But maybe he won a lot of his matches by destroying his opponent's morale with his constant banter. Just shut up and play already. Show your opponent some respect.

Opponent seen him do it out of the corner of his eye and waltzed near him and gave him a knuckle sandwich straight in the face against the cue rack holder . For everyone hating on Mike, Stop riding efren's D and stop simping over a woman you will never meet or f*ck. Mike is better and the only reason Efren won their match is because he spends every moment of his boring life in a pool hall. Mike didn't play for 10 years professionally before all of this. Mike still has a better record against efren in most game types except for 8 ball. But these guys are all pros and can beat each other any day. Quit crying about him. I can't stand mike sigel. He talks too much, chalks his cue and measures the shot over and over again just to finally miss it. He has horrible form, technique and body movements. Even In his prime he'd get destroyed by the top players today. He didn't evolve with the game unlike guys like efren reyes and Johnny archer who kept adapting to the higher level of play and kept being successful. Mike is the old school bad technique and form American player that once the game started advancing never adapted to it. Examples of that are guys like mime, Kim Davenport, Jim rempe( although rempe is the best of those by far) alot of 80s to 90s American players dropped off when pool started advancing because they had horrible technique, form, posture, etc. He just isn't that good. Nowadays you got amauters better than him.

Many of you critical of Mike have no idea what pool was like before the cell phone age. You never had to grind and make a living from it like Mike did... before tournaments etc. Mikes mouth was required back in the 70's and 80's when you were hustling pool. It's like Paul Newmans character said in the movie color of money about Tom Cruises charater and his "mouth". "Some guys spend half their lives trying to invent something like that. You walk into a pool room with that go-go-go, the guys'll be *killing* each other, trying to get to you" That's why Mike was winning on the road. People wanted his game and Mike never invented his character that is Mike and the fact people knew he was genuine made them want to beat him even more and would spend nearly anything to do it. Rarely working. You old guys in this forum saying different should A.. know better and B... should be ashamed of yourselves for being soft. Not everyone plays like Steve Davis FFS. American pool is for gun slingers and people that like to shoot wiskey... sorry to offend you. SHeesh. Also... let me know when any of you get to play today for 1/4 million dollars, on TV... on bigger tables with nap cloth and tell me how you just ran rack after rack because you're just that good. Sigel would be above the great players because of the edge he gain from his annoying ways and antics.He was better than a lot of great players in the USA mostly. Earl did it better than Mike trying to win the important mental game but it backfired so many times at him that he lost that edge over the years playing stone cold players like Souquet,Immonen,Hohmann. Efren is above them all and he did it in the most humble way with sportsmanship and respect for the game.Always smiling or looking anxious but never got angry or out of line. The GOAT in other words.
