Some years ago, I played this song for some young folks I worked with. Their music choice at the time was Rap. Needless to say, they were blown away. They said they had never heard such great music. I did the same, well basically but in reverse. They were into all the classics, Stones, Beatles, Doors, Pink Floyd, I played them rap music that sampled songs they’d know as a kinda bridge. After awhile they were stone cold hip hop heads, got into rap big time.. now they’re all dead.. from listening to rap, it was too loud I guess and some nutjob came in and shot the place up demanding to see the basement. Mike Rutherford had something to say outside of Genesis. I think it was two albums, but they were great in my opinion. Like many young people who were born after WW2 , they had a very unique way of thinking about music. A lot of songs about lost heroes, fathers, brothers, uncles. Their life was far different that kids in the US, I am 66 in 2024. These song I grew up on.
