Guys , FYI. In his fight with Andrew Golotta who quit the fight. The video talks about the cut over his left eye. Actually after the fight it was found that Mike broke the occipital bone ( eye socket ) , fractured his cheek AND separated his shoulder in that fight. THAT'S why Golotta quit

I remember going to the pubs to watch Tyson fights. You would spend all day getting pumped up and all the matches leading up to the main event. Then Tyson would come out and knock the guy out in 30 seconds. It got to the point where no one even wanted to see the fights anymore because you already knew who was going to win and it was going to be quick!

10:35 Golota is Polish. He was a game fighter in his day. He had two fights against a very strong boxer named Riddick Bowe. He lost both due to disqualification. Golota was a terrifying body puncher who had a habit of landing low blows, which cost him the Bowe fights. Nevertheless, he dominated Bowe, who was considered an elite fighter in his day. By his own admission, "I (Bowe) need to thank him for punching me in my balls so much. 'Cuz that Golota boy was whoopin' my ass". For Tyson to retire that kielbasa-eating monster so easily and quickly was quite remarkable.

In the mid 1990’s I worked for a company that took orders for pay-per-view fights…at the time (1995-1997ish) it cost right at $100 for a Tyson fight. Not sure which fight it was but I processed more than 300 orders just me, myself and Irene. I remember it lasted less than a minute…or maybe 90 seconds at most. As soon as the ref counted to 10 our phones fucking blew off the walls…people were soooo pissed off LOL!!!

Mike Tyson in the early stages of his career was fighting about every 6 weeks after he turned pro. Cus DaMato made him into the machine he was in the ring. He was a heavyweight who moved like a middleweight. His head was always moving as was his body, Tyson was on a Ball, that's what trainers call it, because he was constant movement and punches from awkward angles to his opponents. Plus his most devastating 2 punch combo was right hook to the body, followed by an uppercut to the face/chin. Oh yeah, that fight against Larry holmes was a revenge fight for Mike. His hero Muhammed Ali was beaten by Holmes in 1980. Tyson promised Ali on a phone call from Ali to Cus D'Amato after he lost, Mike promised him that he would avenge his defeat. Ali was there the night it happened and was introduced and shook hand with both fighter, and whispered to Tyson, "Remember the promise" Tyson went out and destroyed Holmes.

Larry Holmes was old, he had barely 14 days notice for the fight which Tyson admitted was a big disadvantage for Holmes who was making a comeback and was very rusty. Later on Lennox Lewis smashed Tyson to a pulp when Tyson got a taste of what it is to make a comeback. Rarely, is the fighter better than before, often a pale shadow of their former selves.

You should see the sparring match between Ippo and Martinez. Martinez destroyed ippo with simple left hands. Ippo was the Japanese featherweight champion at the time. Ippo is based on Tyson and Martinez is based on undefeated boxer Ricardo Lopez who only lost once to judge’s decision and that was not even a title fight or a ranked fight. Lopez was a well oiled fighting machine during opening rounds but if he deems you unworthy he unleashes on you literally destroying any hope you have. Lopez has a 21 title defense streak and he’s won them all. Tyson likely could never figure out a counter and just fall like everyone else. Speed, power, technique, even pure skill doesn’t matter in front of Lopez as he’s beaten them all.
