Vrabel is the “tough guy” and no nonsense coach that the Jets need because he was one of the players and played under the hardest of hard butts Coach Belichek. Vrabel is a great choice.

Maybe Vrabel can be that guy that can give a boost to Rodgers like lafluer did. Bring in Vrabel, draft a QB if possible keep Arod to develop and just let it run its course, worked in GB and Vrabel has a lot of attributes as lafluer did(coming from a mostly Packer fan)

You know of all the coaches being discussed, I like the idea of Vrabel being the guy. I agree no first timers and if Vrabel takes it he has players to build on. Maybe BB in the front office….? NYJ needs to clean house. New GM, New HC, New OC, New ST, New everything in the front office. I want to see the GM selected first. I would love to see Mangini hired as Talent evaluator or something. They had something brewing under Mangini. Rex comes and got all the credit for going to 2 AFCCGs. Those were all Mangini's players.

I don't want any more DC for head coaches the last time the jets lead the NFL in any offensive category was 2004 with Curtis Martian.. all these DC have the same mind set don't turn the ball over and the Defense will win the game 20+ years of that has not worked we need Ben Johnson or someone like him. enough with these dam DC

Not perfect as a realistic option - if he was, he'd still be employed - but I'd certainly take Vrabel over Rex or Flores. Although he eventually fired them, he employed Carter for 5 yrs and Downing for 4. And having Derrick Henry in the backfield, who he inherited, will make any coach look smart. But given the options, Woody could do worse. TBH, I think Vrabel's comments are to use the Jets for leverage.

I don't buy what anyone is saying about Coaching the NY Jets. None of this matters until they get the right coaching in here. Again, I still feel that they will hire yet another defensive minded HC. We are in an offensive swing now. If you are going to hire a defensive-minded HC, then make sure that OC is top notch. Exhibit A: LA Rams. When they hired McVay, an offensive guy. They needed to hire a defensive guru so to speak because McVay was all things offense. Enter in Wade Philips. Great hire. Great DC. That's how you do it. I don't know. I'm not confident how all of this will turn out. Aaron Rodgers does not have an era. It's 12 games. That's not an era.
