I started buying some more stocks at the beginning of the year, but nothing big. Why am I treating this so harshly? I still want to be the first person in my polygamous family to make a million dollars despite the fact that others in my field make six figures per person. I am well aware of the costs associated with working more to get more money.

If the market has taught me anything, it's that it usually makes a comeback, but I can't seem to concentrate on the long term, especially because important things like my retirement and my reserve are having a disastrous impact on inflation. I need a solution and a data trajectory that I can trust as soon as it is practicable.

Currently, the best market strategy is to work with a credible investing coach. Since a while ago, I've been in touch with a coach, mostly because I lack the depth of understanding and mental toughness to deal with the ongoing market conditions. You lack the information necessary to succeed in a competitive market, not because you're doing anything wrong, but rather because of your lack of experience.

Munger and Buffett have both achieved an incredible feat with Berkshire. They've turned thousands to billions, and have made a lot of people wealthy in the process. I really saw the potential of the stock market by reading Berkshire's annual letters. I recently sold my $674k apartment in the Bel Air area and I'm hoping to throw it into the stock market. I just don't want to lose everything.

1 month agoMost people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.

A year age federal net interest was in the $400 billion range. Now it is $745 billion increasing about $570 million per day, offsetting a current rise in income tax collections. Net interest hits $1 trillion within a year, added to this year's $1.9 trillion deficit. $213 trillion federal unfunded liabilities are increasing $29 billion per day. Unfunded liabilities are the conveyor belt that turns into funded liabilities as new debt is issued. Congress thinks: "no worries, we can spend all we want through the next ice age". All it will take is a five minute delay when the line of mullets at the Fed auction window evaporates. It, alone, has the power to say: "No!". Lesson for federal student loans: "You signed a note. Pay it back!". Lesson for the US Congress: Ditto.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor, seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 2years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Liz Young is a superb interviewer and it really makes a difference regarding how many "nuggets" are extracted from guests. I thought Mike Wilson and David Zervos added some real value. Mike seems correct about the inevitability of so many stocks failing owing to no real prospects to make $$s without a heck of a lot of Fed financial support; and, David's ideas about how the Fed is now seeing interest rates (normalized is okay, bigger balance sheet okay) was thought-provoking. ***I'd only add that was it the Fed raising rates or was it really just letting the markets sort things out that has worked over the past 2 years? If only we now move forward with the Fed not bailing out markets, let markets set interest rates. Alas, just a dream.

All the "Fed put" is likely to accomplish is to delay the worst recession that Jim Rogers expects in his lifetime. Pouring debt into consumer purchases and poorly run companies and government expenditure will eventually create big issues for lenders, borrowers and tax payers.
