100% The hand crafted vibe was everything. Though, luxury apartments and hotels can be pretty amazing too!

Basically, Bali now has all the owners of villas, restaurants, entertainment, especially Cangu..America, Australia and Russia. Don't be surprised that some places are expensive..Balinese people are just workers, not owners. Of all that exists..in Bali, the real cost of living there for one day for a family is 5 US dollars, which is more than enough for 1 family and applies to Indonesia.

Agreed. We love Bali, but it is sad to see the overdevelopment that has happened over the years. We really loved our time getting out of the major tourist hubs in Bali and seeing the more natural and local side. Spending time in Bali on a budget is easy if you know where to look.
