As a business owner, it's imperative to address all reasonable customer requests but just as imperative to manage customers when their requests are not reasonable. The final straw was when she left me notes hanging in 3 different trees around her property to edge this or blow this 🤯🤯🤯. I did not know how to tell her in a professional way that she was crazy so I instead sent her a new estimate with a price increase to compensate for the extra time it takes to talk to her and do these little “extra” things. You wouldn’t believe the voicemail I received from her when she saw that I was raising her price from $48 to $61.75 biweekly cut. @@RobABankWithABagel No, that absolutely was the phrase long before the internet. The confusion you have comes from the muddy internet waters itself. While yes there may be similar phrases in other languages, the modern english use comes directly from the misremembered phrase used by a certain business that spread from employer to entitled customer and so on. Also it was simply about what they bought, not the conditions of purchasing the thing, so discounts were not part of the model. While enticing a customer is useful.... it leads to entitled customers and poor treatment of your employees. That is NOT good business. Business is an agreed upon equal exchange and should always be treated as such, because of the leverage either side holds. Modern businesses are often a mix of bending over backwards... and screwing the customers back in a subtle but effective manner, both are saddening.

I've literally just found this channel and the first vid I watched was the customer you fired. I'm really proud of how you and your company handled this. Some people are NEVER happy.

That was so funny how he dodged that question if he was the boss. Still didn't lie but didn't answer his question hahahahaha Let that Karen go bro If that employee is constantly working around machines I'd consider getting him a jumpsuit

I am glad you fired the client. He has every right to have the work done correctly but to speak demeaning about the people who came to do the work was wrong. You praising your employee, Caleb is great ! I did housekeeping as a sideline and I have fired customers.

For real, he is already doing the boss's job handling customers in person. He has more responsibility than Mike does. Mike couldn't even be honest to the customer about being the boss. Caleb basically is the boss, definitely should be paid more if he is going to be responsible for confronting clients.

Great good man, it's great to see a boss/company that stands up for their employees that's amazing we need more bosses like you, you just saved your employee from felling unappreciated and morale from dropping, making him more confident in his job which in turn will lead to even better performance from him and even greater service to your respectful customer.

You would have lied to the customer and pretended to be an employee, and then let a disgruntled client escalate things with your employee until a confrontation ensued between your client and your employee? See, I would think a good boss would be the one doing the confrontation before it ever escalated to the point where my employee could be berated by said client.

You, sir - is a TRUE leader. That is how you deal with customers who think they can decide how to run your business. It is better to lose the client than a treasured employee who puts his back in it every day. People should remember, that yes - the customer is always right... But they often forget, what is meant to come after that. The customer is always right... (If you want to keep him.) If the customer is unreasonable to a degree where you risk other customers or skilled valued employees, then the customer is simply not worth keeping and should be kicked out.

Just saw pt.1 and that's a good call on dropping that yard, cause it honestly is a garbage yard...Caleb sounds like he needs to be a crew leader...going by the way you speak about him,he seems like he's dedicated to helping your company grow....just the $$$$ he saves you on repairs is something that you should definitely take into consideration, cause most repair shops charge anywhere from $65hr for 2 cycle and $80+ per hour on 4 cycles and zero turns(I have well over 25years in the game,so I can definitely say,I've seen it all and came across many clients like that.... piece of crap yard as it is,then wants to complain) ...drop a $40 junk yard,I bet you'll pick up 2, $80 yards

Good on you for sticking up for your team. You are 100% correct in that the customer is NOT always right. There’s a balance to be struck, but in this case you were justified in firing he guy. I’m glad that you posted his face in the video, one, so he can be identified to his friends and family, and two, so we can all see what kind of idiot he is.

After the first call with the complaint, I texted Cayleb and told him what was said. He said “Do you want me to go back? I don’t want to cause trouble for the company?” I said, “ Not for the company. For you. And explain what you are and do for the team. If he is a good perfect person he will highly respect that you came back to see what his concerns were and address them with you.” Well Cayleb had the guts to do it. And sadly, unlike a high quality old timer, had the wrong response. I am so proud to know Cayleb, work with Cayleb and publicly defend his stellar character.

We have no issues like this, but the man in charge thinks before he acts, a lot like you, you mentioned it yourself “tunnel vision”. Caleb is clearly a massive part of your team you cannot deal without. Respect to you and looking after your staff when a customer was out of order quite frankly. Respect

I just picked up this vid.... I wrote a comment yesterday on your previous vid. I stated that if it was the 1st job of the day the worker should look presentable with clean face and cloths ( I understand work cloths... I mean washed when I say clean). In this vid you gave more background to the employee story and I can understand him showing up somewhat dirty for the 1st job due to his other duties. I am extremely happy to see that you got rid of such a toxic costumer, if you would have done anything else you would have lost good employees. Most likely he was angling for you to refund money to get service for free or at a reduced rate. My opinion If his fat *** can paint a wall it can mow his own lawn it would only take him about 30 minutes as you showed in previous vid., and if he did not like it it would be his own fault.
