#1 Why didn't you survey the property before giving him a price? #2 This caused you to underestimate the price . Me myself, you eat it knowing it won't take that long ever again. So you'll make more money per hour.

Love this video. To add to the point he made at the end of the video, The largest construction companies in the world were started over 100 years ago. With the rare exception Most of them didn’t get their first big commercial projects until they were around 15-20 years.

That's the case you're spelling on average $100 an hour for 40 hours a week over a total of 38 weeks. Unless you're averaging closer to 50 hours then it kind of makes sense. But either way great job man you're telling it corporations would kill for those numbers

So, I’ve based a lot of how I set up the structure of my lawncare business with P4P. The one thing I personally have issues with is finding regular employees who are able to drive…meaning I have to spend the time and $ to pick them up instead of meeting at the job site. What can I do about this to help make production actually flow well? Company vehicle with someone to drive it isn’t really an option atm

I remember pushing a mower around my neighborhood asking for $4 to mow hoping they didn't have four 1's and would give me $5. Then again, that was the 90's and I was 7

That last part is so true about the first 5 yrs, but at what point should you give up and move to a new endevor? Some people say you have to fail several times before you find the perfect endeavor.

I used to be a union roofer (we did flat rubber roofs only, usually sky scrapers, hospitals, schools etc). With that being said the “residential” non union side of commercial roofing is a death sentence. Some guy with a pickup truck can go hire a few day laborers and outbid you every day of the week. Either that or you’ll get a commercial roofer like me and a few of my work buddies to do it for you on the side. I feel bad for this guy, but unfortunately residential roofing is one of those niche markets. I had it explained to me like this “If a licensed contractor pulls the permit for your roof its over $1,000 and he has to show city hall hes licensed, bonded, insured etc” but “The homeowner can go to city hall and say “Im doing the roof myself”, and get the same permit for $50 without the need to be insured bonded etc” So when most homeowners are hit with the emergency expense of needing a new roof, do you pay $20-$30k to the bonded guy? Or do they network and find someone to “Help them do it on the side” for between $5-$10k? The people that have the money will hire a roofing company, the people that dont will hire guys like me. I suggest this guy stop doing houses and switch to strictly commercial

What happen to high school kids mowing lawns for money? I used to do that all the time; mow, weed, near all type of landscaping when i was in high school. Back in 2010 i would happily mow a 500-1000 sq ft for 20-40 (plus extra for the bushes and edges) nowadays everyone runs a company, seniors are working at fast food and kids are more worried about who's offended instead of how to survive.

It's crazy their way of thinking. It's like they expect the adverage homeowner to pay them almost or their whole paycheck for cutting their yard one time. It's not a hard job to ride around on a zero turn mower. A lot of them want even mow a yard if they have to push mow it, I've seen many on a big mower in tiny yards. They'll have someone else, maybe two guys weeding for them, paying them a lot less. Most want to mow your yard every week, and they will also mow your yard when it really doesn't need mowing or when it's hardly rained any or at all they will still be mowing. You can tell them how you want your yard mowed and all and have 10. Different people mow it and not really tell a difference. It's not like if you pay this person 50 to a 100 more, you're going to get a better cut.
