I have a malt intolerance I I got from my mom. For the life of me I could never understand why people loved malted milkshakes, cause they burnt the like the devil, tasted meh, and made my gut hurt. I told my mom and she was like, "oh yeah you got my malt intolerance. Don't drink wine coolers too." That includes beer.

I didn't think that Celiacs would show up on an allergy test. When I got diagnosed, they had to do an upper endoscopy, or shove a camera down my throat while I was KO'd under anesthetic. They found my stomach lining/celia was deteriorated in a manner matching a Celiacs diagnosis, no other signs besides I got sick when I ate gluten. Glad you got it straightened out and can enjoy non-GF stuff Zach!

Yeah you're right, it wouldn't, since it isn't an allergy. There are some blood tests that can support the diagnosis of celiac disease but to get a conclusive result you need a biopsy. But judging from how much better he's feeling it would probably be a bit unnecessary for him to go through that. 😂

It's good to hear that after a year of being gluten-free. Zach really got gaslit by the VA into thinking he had celiac disease. When really it was his unhealthy lifestyle. But monster really will give you kidney stones. I remember just sitting in class in my senior year of high school and just feeling this sharp pain coming from my stomach area. I went to the bathroom and peed out a nickel sized kidney stone and took a picture for science. I ended up showing it to my sister, who was a nurse, and she was flabbergasted that I didn't pass out from the pain. I drink redbull if I need energy now, cause I don't want that ever again.

​In some cases the food is made in the same facility that handles other Wheat related items thus there can be traces of Wheat from the air/production line. If it's always enough to be medically relevant is hard to say but it's cheaper to put on packages than to risk a lawsuit. So you can never be quite sure if it's unsafe or not.

I'm really happy for Zach that he is able to get his issues figured out. I had some really weird stomach issues a few months ago and had no clue what was going on. I went to doctor after doctor after doctor, every food allergy test, thyroid, liver, kidneys, stomach, literally anything that could be tested was tested and we couldn't figure out what was going on. I eventually had to drop out of school because it was such a continuous issue, and a few days after dropping out, it vanished. Turns out I just have a stress disorder that makes it so I just can't function if I'm constantly stressed out, my entire body just decides it time to stop working.

Congrats, Zach. If you're up for traveling, Germany has over 3000 acknowledged types of bread, with a bunch of variations and local types not accounted for. You'll find a bakery around every other corner and can eat your way through their goods. My favorite translates to "pumpkin cheese crust", a whole grain bread with plenty of pumpkin seeds mixed into the dough and covered in some shredded cheese before baking. The pumpkin seeds make both taste and texture more interesting, and the slight cheese-y note of the crust contrasts it.

Stomach problems are very common in people with ADHD and/or ASD, and carbonated drinks and high amounts of caffiene are very likely to trigger those in us.

Hey, Zach! Have you tried the flat test? Carbonated beverages almost always contain Carbonic Acid. Try your fav beverage (for taste) and a ginger ale. Let them go flat overnight in the fridge with the lid half on (keep out the food flavors). See if you can drink either of those w/o issue. (Try not to drink both on the same day.) If you are fine, then it's the gas, itself, and a bio-mechanical issue.

Never had a kidney stone, never been too big on energy drinks except once, even then it was 3 energy drinks in two days after that, none. Pop though, 23 cans Baja Blasts, and 3 two liters in a two hour period in college had me in pain from acid reflux.

My big sis had whack digestive and stomach issues since she was like 10, come to find after years of tests, medication and diets her intestines are in the completely wrong order and go vertical rather than horizontal. Turns out its a birth defect and no one noticed throughout the entire time she was seeking treatment, reminds me so much of the tall tales about the boys fun with the VA.
