My grandfather got Malaria at Guadalcanal and had the shakes from it for years. Fortunately, with time and treatment, he got better before I was born but still the way my mom described how he would shake sometimes when she was a little girl is terrifying.

Fun fact about the allergies dissipating, there are doctors that specialize in allergies (sorry forgot the exact doctor’s specialization) but they identify what you are allergic to and make a sort of vaccine. The treatment involves regular visits to get the vaccine combination of every allergy source chemical that you are allergic to (for instance what constitutes the dandruff in animals, I’m sadly allergic to cats) in a controlled dose. Once the treatment of about two years passes and you get every vaccine your allergies “should disappear” but it’s just you building resistance to it with each dose, obviously every dose getting stronger and stronger. I stoped because that was expensive and wasn’t covered by med plan, but I no longer suffer from severe allergies like I used to. I still get allergies but less often. Sadly cat dandruff still affects me badly but I no longer die in proximity to simple dust.

I'm curious, does it work for food-related allergies, or just for stuff like pollen/dandruff?
@nergalrior7841
@nergalrior7841 Жыл бұрын
@@randomguy3849 they do test you for every allergy, they use tacks and pierce your arm as a test. Don’t know if it can work for food allergy though since I didn’t have any nor did I see anyone else with that problem. Mine was just the regular polen/dust allergies and then I discovered I was actually allergic to cats. Doesn’t happen with dogs, just cat hair.

My parents did this for me in the early 90’s. The stories of me kicking and screaming as the doctors did the series of shots up and down my back. Every few weeks, back at the doctors for the next set of test. They eventually realize this was a little traumatic for the list of allergies I had. Tree, dust, dirt, pollen, dandruff….
@nergalrior7841
@nergalrior7841 Жыл бұрын
@@AKguru762 agh yea I forgot, adults get the arm, kids need to be in the back. Damn I forgot. I still don’t know why but I did see that. It looks worse than it actually is. It’s just a pinch but yea to a kid it’s just very terrifying. Sorry you had to go through that.

When I talked to my dermatologist after contracting a Nickle allergy they said the Human body regularly shifts around allergies every 5 years or so, It just depends on whether you gain a new one, lose one you never discovered or you just keep the ones you have, It may be affected by Environment and stress.

Yep; you can totally 'outgrow' an allergy - and also develop an allergy you didn't have previously. I was born allergic to chocolate. Childhood SUCKED with 'white chocolate' and *carob* as substitutes. Then I was getting a bunch of other tests and got an allergy test when I was 16 - my chocolate and another pollen allergy were gone (and I've been 'making up for lost time' ever since ;) ) But in my early thirties, I was noticing I was scratching my hands, and after taking another allergy test, found I was now allergic to olives - I was working in a deli and making party trays and sandwiches and things with them, the exposure (never cared much for them all along, so I didn't encounter them much before the job) had gotten my immune system going haywire. Oh well - something don't like to eat doesn't like me back, big whoop. :D

Little tip, diphenhydramine has a similar molecule called dimenhydrinate. Do not take this with a cough syrup i won't name. I combined these, not knowing what they would do their thing and i woke up in my hotel room higher than I had ever been in my life. Now, I'm in favor of recreational stuff, i believe that people should be allowed to intoxicate however they want to so I've had my fun and I know what it feels like to be high. But i can't begin to describe how terrifying it is to wake up that stoned out of my mind when i wasn't expecting to be stoned. If i knew it was gonna happen that would have been fine but to just wake up in the morning not knowing why you're stoned is the most terrifying thing that I've ever experienced. Cause I don't know what happened! Did someone dose me while I was asleep? Am i dreaming? Did an endorphin gland in my brain explode?

I remember when I was younger (like elementary), at night I would have hallucinations where I would just see blurry, fuzzy, glowing worm-like things staying idle or crawling all over the bed. Then I would see things in dark areas like the closet or doorway out into the hall (if it was open). And it wasn't generic spooky ghosts either, it was on some FNAF 4 phantoms type shit. The weird stuff immediately went away if I had a light source though. I genuinely had no clue what up was with that, then it all went away when I started middle school.
