Part 2, We're pouring and stamping a concrete pool deck today. It's about 975 square feet and the temperatures are in the 90's.
How can we get the concrete poured and stamped before it sets up on us?
The answer is haveing enough skilled and experienced guys that know what they're doing.
We've been doing this for over 25 years as a team. I've personally been doing this for 43 years. It takes a lot of experience pouring and finishing concrete in hot weather to be able to stamp a concrete pool deck in hot weather like this.
Watch us mag float and cut joints, then stamp the concrete as we work as a team to get this pool deck stamped. There are some after photos of the finished project the homeowner took from his drone that really show you how nice this project turned out.

You have to be more anal about it for sure, using either a really good curing compound or wet curing. Im in Arizona and in the summer youll have mud at 6 and it will be bleached out totally white by 9:30. This is terrible for concrete, once its finished you want to keep as much residual moisture inside of it as possible. Im really looking forward to trying some internal curing chemicals if I can find a batch plant with them in my area. From what I have seen online they are working magic for the guys using them.

Mix baking soda with water, the little box with 5 gallons will do. Or ammonia and water 9 parts water to 1 part ammonia. Spray on or brush on, rinse off.

way too hot to pour around a pool that is the worst thing you can do and even if you can save it you will bust your ass always plan your pours around hot and sunny days

Theres ways to do it. If we shut down over 100 degrees we would only have about 10 weeks every year we could pour here in Arizona haha. You have to be efficient and really really anal about curing. Design your mixes to make it easier as well, strong enough to take some water and super p so it can be placed wetter. We line pump most jobs as well that cant be chuted, no messing with buggies. Its all about getting it down as fast as possible and having enough guys to hop on it.

2% retearder and maybe some DAY 1 and no problem. Try pouring in the South Georgia heat LOL. I know you can handle the cold much better than us but that heat is nothing. Maybe a few less double cheeseburgers for your guys too.
