In my opinion, what Chuck told Lee to do for Clem is what saved Clem from being like Sarah. No one prepared her, no one taught her. Carlos thought he was protecting her but he just made her reliant on him and him only. Clem can take care of herself thanks to what she was taught. For crying out loud you got the whole cast of adults following Clem’s lead most the time 😂

Apaprently according to the writers, Sarah has PTSD and extreme anxiety. It really does show, and I genuinely dont blame Carlos for feeling the need to shelter her. The question of how to best help someone with a mental condition in an apocalyptic situation is extremely heavy and I think it needs to be treated with care.

He actually is pissed at Clem no matter what you choose. If she chops the arm off he has a reason to be pissed at her, but if she doesn't he vents his anger on her anyways. But he also gets over it either way, so that decision is one of the more meaningless ones in the series.

And the fact that Carlos didn’t train his daughter to survive is setting her up for failure and everyone knows without proper training, that doesn’t help at all. In Sarah’s shoes, in this apocalypse you WILL die. Because at the end of the day, you need the skills to survive these situations and Carlos decided to act like she was just a burden who shouldn’t be taught how to at least shoot a fucking gun. Sarah could have actually survived under the deck by herself if she got taught a OUNCE of usefulness.

Rebecca is literally one of my favourite characters, probably my favourite out of the ones we are introduced to in Season 2. She's a complex female character, far from perfect, but a lot of her behaviour makes sense, when you consider that Carver more than likely assaulted her. If the extent of Sarah’s condition is exactly what we’re shown then she could’ve been taught and it’s fully Carlos’ fault. However if her condition is worse than what was shown, making her unable to be taught, then it’s fully the game developers’ fault for not properly depicting that. Since most people aren’t like you who make assumptions trying to make the scenario better or try to make it make more sense, they’ll just stick with the facts that they have because at the end of the day assumptions might make things seem more sensible but you still have zero confirmation. If her condition stopped her from learning survival skills then the game didn’t do a good job of portraying that. PS. I personally think the game portrayed exactly what it wanted to with Sarah’s situation and it is supposed to be Carlos’ fault, because we see from the scene with Clem that Sarah was willing to learn how to use a gun.
