In this video do a little restoration of my old 18HP Shibaura SD1840 4x4 tractor.
Restore and repair old shibaura sd1840 the sd2200 was the 2wd 22hp model. This tractor was manufactured in Japan back in the late 70s. It's still going strong. There's an interesting connection between Shibaura and Ford tractors.

Great vid Mike. Reminded me of the 1st tractor I bought back in 2001. Shibaura SD3240 with a new Koyker loader and 5' box blade. I used to get parts for a Ford 1710 which was similar enough to fit my unit. Sold that when I bought a new JD 4320 and now I have a Kubota L2501 I bought new in 2018. I also have a Bolens-Iseki G152 (diesel) with Howard tiller and a Bolens HT20 for general use. Down to 3 tractors from a high of 7 about 4 yrs ago, lol.

IMO, Sheโ€™s just the perfect size tractor. Nimble and powerful. Sure, 24hp is bigger than 18hp, but sheโ€™s forever reliable and youโ€™ve safely managed to be productive with her these last 8 years. Had a 1910 ford since 1988 made by Shibaura. Excellent tractor. Finally sold it last year and upgraded to a much larger old Kubota. Oddly the only problems over that 30 plus years were one water pump, several batteries, and slashes in the sidewall of the original tires.

I think Tym tractors has a 67 hp tractor that is does not need def. I believe 75HP is the cutoff. But I think they are all electronically controlled. The def systems needing regen are terribly unreliable. doesn't matter what brand.

Yes that regen stuff doesnโ€™t seem to work very well. My friend was running a new $60k Kubota excavator and it had about 40 hours on it, the darn thing tried to regen and put a fault code on the screen that it didnโ€™t regen properly ๐Ÿ‘Ž Not good. Thanks for checking out my new video Gregg ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a Kioti CK2610 HST and they are said to be pretty bullet proof. I also have a Kioti RX7320 and a project tractor Kubota L2950 GST that sounds like exactly what you are looking for. They are pretty rare. Mine only has 150 hrs on it but needs every rubber piece replaced plus all cylinders rebuilt - barn find if you will. If it ever gets under a 1000F down here in Texas, maybe I can find the time to work on it. LOL

Toughest little tractors ever - they used great stuff building them. Ford / New Holland knew what they were doing by rebranding them. Achilles heel can be really hard starting as stuff wears - but it takes forever to get to that.

I have a John Deere 755, that seems to be made well. Steal rear axle housing, HST that seems to be holding up very well. About the same size as yours. I made a backhoe subframe (4 point style) for an old "kubota" like woods backhoe that fits it. I don't plan on getting anything newer to replace it. There is a way to fill your tries with foam--- and then you don't have to worry about it. but you already have the new one's now. Actually, what a lot of people do with new tires is fill them with water (and antifreze)-- Because it gives you more weight in the rear and allows you to lift more with your front loader.

Ah yes I know that feeling of "I'm just gonna da that little thing and if I ever gonna repaint that it's going to be later." Started doing the wiring on a Unimog I bought. While crawling beneath the truck I saw that the rear cross member was rotten. So I thought I'm just gonna replace that. Took it partly apart and realized: Yes better repaint the whole frame, isn't that much more effort anyways. Then I found out the complete frame was rotten, so I had to take everything apart and now have to rebuild everything on a new frame. Doesn't matter know. The cabs gonna be repainted too before it's going to get mounted again. Need to do the whole deal now. As for those compactors being sold under Us manufacturers names: Your tractor isn't the only one. I think it's Massey Ferguson that sells Japanese Iseki tractors under their brand - but they do that in the rest of the world to. Here in Germany you can order the same tractor as an Iseki or Massey Ferguson. I mean many brands do it. Mercedes sold the Unimog badger as Case and Freightliner for some time. Even called it an American product. Deutz produces tractors that are sold under 6-7 brands throughout Europe. Names are all just wishy washy anyways.

@humbucker0076 2 ะถั‹ะป ะฑาฑั€ั‹ะฝ
@@jeepanimal2943 big go be fair: If you gonna do rebrand tractors you better do it from a company that does it right. I used to work in a municipality that had a early two thousands Kubota and about 5 year younger iseki. Whilst the Kubota was a bit more powerful, absolutely sturdy and has been around the clock once or twice, the Iseki is just a bit more refined. Might be that it is a bit newer, but there are things like: you can check the oil without opening the hood, and Id you want to get to engine you can remove all panels around it easily without tools and get to everything. The front hydraulics are incredibly beefy, the rear trailer hitch mounts in a sled like they do on bigger tractors nowadays. Makes it incredibly easy to adjust the height of the hitch or Switch between the bolt style tractor hitch or a ball hitch. The Hydrostat itself is also great. Has a throttle feature so it feels like a normal Gaspedal. Everything is analog and mechanical, so Computer Therese. It was a Great machine to work with.

I work it hard, built 350" driveway with 80 - 100 tons of road millings, moved 20-25 logs for the neighbor that were 30-36" dia. Moved a large rock pile and made a pad to store my attachments on and it will spin all 4 ties when digging. 24.9 HP and a 10 year power train warranty, so they are still built to last. It is Hydro, not manual (dang it), but I do have to save it is growing on me. Keep up the good work!

Looks nice. When the housing market bubble hit and I didn't build a single house in 3 years, I started refurbing skid steers in my garage. A couple of hints: The secret to a 10 foot paint job is to concentrate on feathering the old paint with a sander. Like a 500 grit. Believe it or not, don't use HVLP, use rattle cans. The paint tends to be thicker and hides more. HVLP is great for cars when you have a really nice surface to spray, but it shows way too much on the surfaces you're spraying here. You can find implement paint at farm stores that works great or buy manufacturers spray paint in rattle cans if you can find it. Rust oleum primer works great over a little surface rust, and it's a good base that builds over chips and pits. The best thing that I learned (You probably can't do it because I doubt you can find the decals) is to paint right over the decals and place the new ones right over the old. They really help with placing the new ones. I sold 50 skids over the 3 years, and I still see them around. They still look pretty good, and I never had any complaints.

That damn thing had more grunt than many machines I have owned three times the size. It's most blatant weak point was simply a lack of weight, I never did find a task that made the engine bug down at all. My wife got tired of being made to sit on the hood so eventually I rigged up lead wheel weights and a few 55 gallon drums full of water. I still regret getting rid of that machine. It had a two-speed axle besides the transmission, if you put it in low low, you could walk beside it grooming the driveway and throwing limbs straight into the trailer, it would move slightly slower than a man walking. Built like a brick shithouse but not the slightest nod to comfort. Absolutely perfect machine for a low cost homestead

Hey there, I'm not a hoarder or anything, but I have a hard time throwing away things that I think might be useful. From recreational activities, I have managed to collect about three garbage bags full of identically sized glass jars, round and about 2 in by 2 in. I also have one giant garbage bag of glass syringes, they have never had needles, with silicone caps. I've yet to find anybody that can make use of these so I'm getting ready to toss them. Just thought I would throw it out there, any use that springs to mind?

I totally agree emissions control and excessive computer equipment doesn't belong on small tractors. I've been using an LS on our family land for a couple of years and it's junk.

Hell this is a total Longshot but I floated a few other crazy long shot idea so why not. At my current house I have a bridge crane and at my new house it is very flat and everything is paved. I need to buy a forklift, the type that the whole Mast doesn't go up in the air, there's an oversized two car garage it would be used in mostly. I would prefer electric or propane, but I don't care what size or what something looks like as long as it is reliable. I'm looking to buy that immediately in cash because it will save me a fortune in moving expenses

I know some people might ask why would any one waste time and money on an old tractor. But its always good to take care of your equipment. It will last longer. And after 8 years working for you. It have deserved it :) And when the day comes. For it to find a new owner. It will look a bit better :)

I don't know if it is something you would be interested in, but I have three riding mowers that all run but just need a basic running through. I have a fourth part tractor as well, most of them are very low hours. I always planned to fix and flip them but my disability progressed faster than I expected. My realtors need me to just get them gone, I can have the junkyard pick them up for free but it seems like a shame when I have so many extra parts and they are almost all the same model. I also have a few ad hoc at buildings on trailers I need to get rid of. Just wanted to put it out there, I'm in a strange hurry but I trust you if money is not immediately available
