Nice clear non biased review, thank you! For the choke lever I have found a couple of O-rings give it a nice resistance to stay right where you place it but still move freely. A buddy had an issue where his choke lever was moving slightly while riding obviously causing overly rich condition and we solved it with the O-rings.

I just found your channel the other day and subscribed. Holy smokes, where have I been? You really put out some great videos, and I thank you. You do an incredible job of making things simple and viewer friendly. Thanks for all of these videos and your honest reviews. I have an XPro Hawk and it has been incredible. I bought it for my young son and daughter to learn how to ride a motorcycle on and it has been fantastic. After both learn to ride a motorcycle on the hawk, they still argue about who’s going to get to ride it. Even after my son bought a KLR 650, he can’t wait to hop on the hawk and take it for a ride, because it has a great low end first gear, and he says no matter how much he beats it, it just begs for more. This year will be three years of owning the XPro Hawk with over 3000 miles on it and has yet to have any problems whatsoever. Not a single one. And I mentioned this again because my son and daughter have not taken it easy on that bike, it’s been dropped, crashed, ran into boulders and who knows what else they’re afraid to tell me happened. After all of this time, the only thing I’ve had to do is patch a tube, that’s it. Thanks again, keep up the great videos and hard work. It’s appreciated!

Mike, when I was younger I seem to get caught up in the "name brand thing." Like you state, "these items do a lot for a little." I think sometimes people get caught up in the menutia of name brands. Items like these allow people to get out there, experience something that may or many not be had if you are caught up in the name brand deal. As you showed, for a fraction of cost you get a "capable' bike that allows you to experience life, rather than be inhibited by cost. In reality, just be happy and experience as much as you can for what you have. Appreciate the information, the breakdown, and just getting out there. Keep up the good work.

Checking in on you Mike! It's been a while. Busy on this end. Thanks for the video and taking the time to make it. I'm down at the veterinarian right now, and this helped pass the time while one of my dogs received some stitches. Fun bike and affordable! The good old days of going down and picking up a new Japanese bike at the dealership for $3,000 are long gone and have been for a while. I remember the good old days of the Honda XR's, which most of these Chinese bikes are copied fom. The Chinese bikes keep getting better and better, and ard worth the price! Tons of fun!

I hope your dog is doing better and the bill wasn’t crazy expensive. I owned an XR 250 that had some aftermarket engine parts on it, it was a great bike, I also owned a XR 650L. My other X pro bike is the Templar 250 and it reminds me a lot of my XR 250 especially the engine, but the Templar has more modern geometry and a flatter seat that goes over the tank. It’s almost identical to my KTM XCW 200 frame and plastics. Honestly I road my Nephews XR 250 and I kind of prefer the Templar a little more. Take care Joe 😊👍

It's great that you emphasize what needs to be done with a brand new, fresh from the shipping crate bike. The temptation would be to tighten a few nuts and go ripping around the yard but your methodical approach will assure better value for dollar spent and give a better, longer use of the bike.

[ours last longer] :) great job on assembly and care! I was thinking about the Templar, but its heavy [Im old "64" now] and low n slow & being able to toss/put the bike "where" I want it to be is more important to me. I like your approach on this and other things in your vids - sure appreciate Im not the only "old school" type that actually enjoys puttering about on these projects. :) I have ebikes and considering one for trails, but this one will do much better than an ebike [thats out now] oh & Im North Idaho, live in the woods with miles of logging roads n trails, some on belly acres, more nearby - no need for a multipurpose bike here :) are the rims aluminum? [thats why I hold off on the 150] steel for rims on a bike might be a problem. (?)

Another outstanding video Mike, thank you. In your next video on the Storm 250 would you please address the rear shock. It looks as though it does not have any linkage to make the suspension progressive. Perhaps this is accomplished with a progressive spring? Also, please compare and contrast the wheel sizes vs the standard Templar. I'm trying to find the best bike to reintroduce my wife to riding after a 2 year hiatus. We now have access to hundreds of miles of Forest Service roads near our home so instead of putting her back on a street bike I'm thinking a light enduro. We have a Templar 250X that I absolutely love but she is a bit intimidated by it's size. The storm 250 may be just the bike for her. Other questions: can the exhaust stinger be removed and a spark arrestor installed as you did on the Templar? To what extent is the engine vibration felt in the bars? If used on roads rather than trails would you install a smaller rear sprocket or is there room to install one tooth large countershaft sprocket? Again, thanks for another very informative video!

It's honestly kind of frustrating, it was easy to dismiss the Chinese bikes when they were a cheap knockoff of a name brand bike, but no name brands offer a dual sport at that weight that's that compact. The price makes it pretty tempting as well. I think I can resist for now, but I'll be watching further reviews with interest.

@MikefestivaАй бұрын
Thanks for checking out my new video! It’s had to say because they cover different ranges for me. The Templar is a bit heavier so you feel the weight more on the trails but it’s got more HP and does better on the pavement. The Storm 250 if so light and more nimble on the trails but not as good on the pavement. If I had to pick just one bike for a main dual sport it would be the Templar. If I had to pick just one for tight trail riding it would be the Storm 250.

I would say it depends on your budget, the Harbor Freight Titanium welders are a good affordable and simple to use welder. The Flux 125 is good but if you decide to go from Flux wire to MIG with gas you would want to go with at least the MIG 140. There’s a lot of good welders available on Amazon as well. The Brand Arccaptain seems to make a good MIG welder, I have been running that welder at my work for the past 2 years without any issues. Hope this helps 👍

Mine had a similar issue. It’s the throttle cable probably. Double check your routing of the throttle cable by the headset and behind the headlight. Make sure it’s not bent hard or pulled. Then check the adjuster at the hand throttle and back off the threaded adjuster up there. Make sure when you twist the throttle and let it go with the bike off that you can hear the throttle slide in the carb click when it drops down to the carb.

Great video!! I'm looking at buying the 150. Other than the obvious differences, how would you compare the 2 ? I'll be using it 95% for trail riding at the camp. Thank you.

I will do a side by side comparison video shortly going over everything I can find to point out about the similarities and differences of each bike.

The high end brands charge 10k for a bike. With light weight parts they are still much heavier than this bike

For the price and value these bikes offer its pretty amazing value. I have wanted a mid size bike that’s light weight for years and couldn’t really find one especially a dual sport. I’m pretty happy with this one so far. Take care and have a great weekend 👍

On Which website did you buy this model ?can’t find this model on amazon. Like your videos, are very nice to watch 👍🏼

It's on X-Pro's website. I ordered from them, had no issues in shipping. Haven't rode it much, cause I'd like a riding partner, so I might get this one in the future.

Hi mike.im going to get one.i bought the same 150 after seeing your video on it.i also tryed the nibbi 24 and was dissatisfied with it.the 26 nibbi is the right carb for the 150.im hoping to pick it up at powersportmax in calif and bring it back to Arizona. If not its still a great deal.how much hp do you think it has?thankyou mike from lake havasu Arizona

Right on man! Good to know about that Nibbi 24 carb. If you like the 150 you will not be disappointed with the Storm 250 (223cc) I’m still breaking in the engine and I need to re jet the carb and remove the CAT in the header but I bet it makes 15 or 16 HP it feels really similar to a Yamaha XT 225 or a DR 200 with the power, but the bike is a lot lighter and feels great on the trails 👍 I’m definitely going to change out the rear shock for something that’s adjustable.

hi i just got a storm dlx 150cc and i need to change the oil to ride it for the first time but it has two plugs i dont know wich one should i open im new in all this help me plz🙏🏻

Here’s a video I made unpacking my 150 and I show a shot of me changing the oil in the video around the 13 or 14 minute point. There’s a hole in the skid plate with the drain plug for the oil. This will probably help. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4OXm6OZabyJgdUsi=ySClhL9ClWvf6WjV
