Always a great discussion. As a farmer, I want to put a plug in for getting to know the local small farms in your area. That's such an important resource to network, and to learn. Ask if they have volunteer days, what varieties grow well in your area...etc. They're always happy to connect with people who want to get involved. Farming is a community lifestyle, and it will definitely teach you patience and humility.

As someone who served only 8 years in the military. I don’t have a big leg to stand on. But, I will say, I wouldn’t ask anyone to go serve for this country right now. Not under this BS administration. We need all the real warriors and patriots at home for what may come. Even if nothing does, no way would I ever tell someone to go serve right now.

So refreshing. Your take 100% aligns with mine. Thanks for all you do for the community. One of my greatest honors was to be on your AC podcast. So excited to hear you’re a dad. Enjoy every minute of it - it will go by so quick. Blessings - Patriot Gal

My 4 year old daughter also hates dolls and enjoys “fixing stuff” with me and her grandpa. I found a nice pink and brightly coloured tool set, so she can feel that she can help us out. She likes to do some guy stuff but she also likes to do make up with her mom, because she knows and likes being a girl.

I'm loving this homestead journey you are on. We are a city family due to work, but the in-laws are farmers and ranchers so my kids fortunately have the ability to learn farming, ranching, butchering, gardening, hunting, etc. Once the kids are out of school and "on their own" I will be on a similar journey that you are doing now. Can't wait to learn from you.

Please keep us posted on the homestead. I am learning and this year got chickens (Brahma chickens). I am loving it and the grandkids are having a blast helping care for the chickens and collect the eggs. It teaches them as well as myself. I am trying to talk the hubs into beekeeping and I am currently reading about it ( mostly Pinterest) but would love to hear how it goes for you. Goats will be next if this goes fine.

Good stuff. We've had a small garden in pots before, but this year I went full bore. Build raised garden beds. Had to fence it all in to protect it from all the deer in our area, but that is ok, they are tasty too.

Hey Mike love the show big fan, I grew up on a farm and like you said does it suck to kill an animal that you raised and cared for yes it does but like you said I give that animal a way better life than any commercial farm/ranch would. alot of guys I work with are big sport hunters (because they think it makes them "men") and they try to get me to go hunting with them all the time and I try to explain to them that unless I need to take that life to sustain my own life I'm not going to do it. Now there are cases like predator control and things of that nature where it is necessary. I'm big on self reliance and buying things local we also trade with other local farms like I don't have chickens so help out one of neighbors in exchange for eggs and things like that, can't wait to see your bee keeping, my wife and I want to start so I would love any pointers. Keep up the great work, we need more men like you in the world

Hi Mike, been listening to you for a while now. I & many women I know have been told "NO" on having a tubal ligation based on the idea that we might want children later. I had to fight my Doctor at 29yrs old because he thought I was wrong & that I might want more children or just take birth control (with all the side effects.) Which that was laugh for me, as it caused blood clots earlier in my life. My question for you is... What are your thoughts about the fact that most Doctors will not allow women to get their tubes tide before they are 32 or have 2 children? I bring this up as most men don't know that women have to deal with this.

It is so important for children to understand where their food comes from. I was raised that way. Whenever my dad went hunting he would bring home an animal I would pet its head and thank the animal for giving his life for me. Twisted maybe but I understood that was where food came from.

Thanks Mike. I've had Vivint for years, I do not share your joys with the company. I too have cameras, IR/Thermal sensors around the house, they work and trigger, but when I open the app, takes forever to get the images. Thats actually the first positive thing I've heard anyone say about Tim Kenedy in a long time. Pissed me off having people compare him to Dakota Meyer. And don't even pull my cord on all this trash going on with gender identity issues and radicalized media outlets. I've given up watching TV. It just ticks me off.

Mike, I had to stop the podcast say this. I think it's awesome that you and your ex get along good enough that you can co-parent together. I wish my ex-wife felt the same way, and a lot of stuff would have went even better for our kids. And on another note, I think it's awesome that you spoke about being a man of god. I've had several friends who served in the military in combat rules, a few of them actually being in special operations. All of them were raised in the church, and now they have all turned away from it. They say they have seen too much stuff to believe in a higher power that would let stuff like that go on. Personally I think it's kind of sad, I would think seeing some stuff like that would bring you closer in your faith. So I just wanted to throw that out there thanks mike!
@jamos111112 жыл бұрын
Mike I appreciate your honesty in dealing with a difficult subject. Thanks for your bravery. I mostly agree with your analysis with one exception that may be food for thought. When we arbitrarily try decide when it is okay to end a child’s life in difficult situations (like rape) people often try to use an estimate of viability of the fetus (Latin for child) to discern a limit for timing as to when it would be permissible for abortion. Viability (when the baby can potentially survive outside of mom) is generally in week 23 or 24 which is in the “second trimester”. I find this distinction inadequate from the perspective that even babies born full term can not sustain life on their own without lots of help from caregivers. Therefore the distinction used as a cut off for abortion doesn’t seem to make any logical sense. At least from my humble perspective. What do you think? God bless you! Jason

Thanks for being a strong moderate voice. I have also become much more aligned with the Right to Life point of view, AND I still think, considering the mess of the foster 'care' system and other failures of society, making abortion illegal is a stop-gap. The more important issue is that moral behavior is losing the 'culture war' and we meed to figure out how to turn that tide.
