Your discussion reminded me of a fundamental process I learned from Chinese martial arts: Formless-Form-Formless, and this process is universal. The idea is when we begin learning a skill set or a full system of an art, whether a martial art or a modern military school, we begin formless. We adopt a structure and adopt a form. When we master the form, we become formless. Think Bruce Lee. He was molded by Wing Chun and became formless; and he evolved his form into Jeet Kune Do. Think free form CQB/CQC flow: Formless masters of their craft... Thanks, Mike.

I feel like as a species our technology has vastly outgrown our ability to adapt to these new concepts. I mean, just in the past 20 years we went from newspapers and television being the only “social media” to having all of that and an infinite amount more in something the size of a notecard that is _never_ more than a few feet from us at all times. Mental health and rampant politics is by far the largest crisis in this country at the moment. Until we are actually able to sit down at a table, with politicians, subject matter experts, and the common citizen, we will not improve.

Mike I love your mindset and the information you share. On the topic of Tim Kennedy, Dakota Meyers and others I do t believe they should be destroyed based on their opinions but it is unacceptable that they don’t fully support 2nd amendment rights. I don’t understand their stance and I can’t support someone that is willing to side with the taking of my constitutional rights. There is no in between on this issue to me.

The one thing they are not talking about is that maybe keeping a 16 years old person in lockdown and fear for 2 years would have created an increase in mental problems in youth. Everyone knew that would happen. 16 to 18 many would agree are usually the best years of a person life, surely some of the absolute most important and no one can give them back to you once they are stolen. Add to that a world on fire and a bleak future? What were they expecting?
@12seano

@@tacticalbt1023 because they are his friends and BRC does collaborations with Fieldcraft. Mike is too close to understand that these guys and his own military record have very little to do with our opinions on them as people. There are a lot of people in the military who see themselves as elite or special because they did well when they were in. What they did doesn’t matter to me when it comes to their opinions. The way they vote and the messages they put out matter here to me. Not their kill count or how many lives they saved years ago. Evan may be engaging in unethical business with BRC. There is an FEC lawsuit out there right now for that. If he is found guilty that just solidifies the theory that his opinions and mindset on life are devoid of ethical practice and thought.

The issue is with influence. All of these men have influence. Main stream media will take statements, in or out of context, and say “see even the experts say we need gun control“. If the experts keep their opinions to themselves, you don’t give ammunition to the main stream media. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you have influence you need to be careful on how you express it. Regarding support, I don’t support CNN for their opinions, so it’s therefore my right to not support anyone who does not share the same opinion as I. That does not mean you must hate, dislike, or attempt to tear down someone because of their opinion. But what it does mean is, surround yourself with people you want to be like, that’s the story in every how to be or achieve success book. No hate, just love. 5/29 Insurrection was real.

The mental health thing is a whole different topic. But nothing under the dsm dash five can predict someone is going to be a murderer. You see that's where both sides get it wrong. Even when it comes to suicide. A psychiatrist can assume or predict you may have suicidal thoughts with depressive disorders. But they cannot prove it. Studies have shown that people with mental health disorders are no more likely than a neurotypical person to commit violence. I completely disagree with the notion that only a person with mental health problems can commit acts of violence. Mental health disorders are disorders like depression, anxiety disorders like social anxiety, autism, ADHD for example. And none of these disorders indicate anything about someone being a murderer. I've studied these disorders and have family with them. See it's easy to blame mental health when you don't understand what your blaming. People without mental health disorders commit violent crime all the time. Every single person is capable of violence because everyone has free will. Wether you live with a disorder or not. Your capable of killing someone. All it takes is for you to make the choice. These mass shooters were not insane. They know what they were doing. If you seen the video of the tops grocery store massacre. It is as obvious as it can possibly be that he hesitated when he got in the parking lot. Indicating he was aware of what he was doing. And he knew it was wrong. There are 53 million people in the US living with some kind of mental health disorder. And the majority of them are no danger to anyone. I remember when Adam Lanza shot up sandy hook. They were trying to claim autism was a dangerous disorder and would cause people to commit violence. That came from people who did not understand Autism. Society is full of uneducated people on mental health disorders. There have only been two known mass shooters with autism. Sandy hook and columbine. If you wanna label any kind of mental health disorder being associated with the stress. Then look at what the FBI determined to be linked, sucicide and depression. But wait almost everyone whose been through some traumatic experience has been depressed and sucicidal. So that isn't a good indicator either. Here's the problem with you all who say mental health is the issue. You can't specify what disorder in mental health. Because there no diagnosis to predict it. You can't say what disorders are potentially dangerous with actual evidence to prove it because the research that's known states otherwise. And on top of just making vague statements that mental health is to blame. You further the stigma against people with mental health disorders being discriminated against based off of ignorance of mental health disorders. I think everyone from all sides of the topic should sit down and educate themselves on mental health or anything they decide to talk about before speaking about something they know very little or nothing about.
@Hellblaze81
@Hellblaze81 2 жыл бұрын
Tho a lot of what you say rings truth, that doesn't account for the fact that the people who commit these acts willingly and/or purposefully are in some kind of distress. They don't get the proper help they need, social factors also come into play and you can't deny that some types of "mental disorders" can eventually significally attribute to the final outcome... I mean, usually people don't decide to commit these acts over night, or on a whim if you will. It's just that they are navigating this perfect storm of many multiple complicated factors and then something snaps. And in his defense, Mike also said that there are many other underlying causes like: fanaticism (which can have a religious underline, not always the case) . Or indoctrination, racism, nationalism, etc. And then, some people are just plain evil and sadistic... In short, while I do appreciate what you said, it was kind of informative, I feel as if you missed his point as a whole. Due to the fact, or so it seems, you got hung up on the one phrase, being "mental health/disorder". Btw, I have ADHD and to be totally frank, most of the time I don't even view it as a disorder, it has some great benefits. Tho the few little things that do bother me, kinda can have a huge detrimental influence on my daily routines. And yes, I'm not planning on committing mass violence (ever...), I do know I can react in/on emotion to it's full extend. Couple that with impulsivity, which doesn't always serve my best interest anyway... Made my fair share of bad (not so smart) "choices" on impulse, haha. Anyway, my rant is over, ghe ghe. My goal with this, wasn't to insult you in any way or even to spark a discussion, just wanted to expand and elaborate on your comment, as well as clarify some things regarding the video, Mike's words and state my observations. Have a good one! Stay save n stay strong!
@kgbreviews35
@kgbreviews35 2 жыл бұрын
@@Hellblaze81 @Hellblaze81 my point was never to insult Mike. My point was to address the stigma that society has against mental health. And the fact tou can't predict a murderer in a mental health evaluation. Yes some conditions you could argue make you more prone to act aggressively. Depression for example can lead to impulsive anger outburst. ADHD causes impulstivity and issues controlling strong emotions. Bipolar disorder is well known to cause aggressive behavior. But the majority of mental health conditions including your condition of ADHD doesn't make you violent. Your more prone to have a impulsive verbal outburst at most. Mike himself has PTSD and a traumatic brain injury as he stated. There is a ton of bias stigma against both of those conditions. I'm basically stating there is no way to predict that someone is going to be a murderer in a mental health evaluation. I'm also stating that the general population has a bias against people with health disorders and they believe in order to commit such a act you have to have a mental health disorder. If that was the case the fbi would have already labeled what that mental health condition would be. The closest thing they have found is being suicidal and having depression. Which affects most people at some point in their life.. So that's not a good predicter. And the fact that general population without a mental health disability commits murder all the time.. I don't believe the sterotype that people have to be mental defective to do these acts. I believe a neurotypical person is more than capable of doing it. Simply because of the fact everyone has free will. Murdering people is a choice. Nicholas cruz is just one example of someone who wasn't insane or mental defective that actually tried to pretend to be on camera in the police interview. You see he knew what he was doing. He understood what he done was wrong. The common denominator the between alot of mass shooters is isolation, suicide and depression. But not all of them. Some have other stronger motives like tops on top isolation and depression like tops grocery store shooter. There are plenty of people young who are isolated, abused, bullied, bully, neglected and grow up in traumatized environments that don't become murderers and have no intentions of it. It's impossible to predict who under these circumstances will become the next individual to commit a tragedy. And that's my point, you can't predict it with mental evaluations. Unless someone states a potential threat or writes it in a journal and it's found. Or communicates it electronically. You cannot figure out who out of these isolated and depressed people are the next potential mass shooter. I think people do not get the mental health care they need. But that's a ton of people. Who still don't grow up to be a murderer. I don't believe people just snap either and go on these sprees. Many of them have been proven to be planned out ahead of time.
@kgbreviews35

Thanks and you too. I personally study mental health disorders myself. I'm thinking about becoming a psychiatrist. I've noticed aftee researching many different disorders that I had misconceptions about many different disorders that came from stigma that society had influenced upon me. As someone who grew up in a abusive environment and has family members with disabilities from learning to mental health disorders and narcissistic personalities. I've seen my fair share of toxic people and people who are prone to being a victim because of their conditions. I hate every time these debates come up that people say mental health is to blame and wanna write it off as that's the only possible problem. And yet they cannot define what mental issue is the cause. It just a generalized place to put the blame for people when they discuss it. Which furthers the stigma of mental health in this country and on top of that makes people reluctant to reach out for help with their mental health disorders such as in college or the workplace when they beed accommodations because of the stigma associated with the lack of understanding of mental health. Have a good day

I understand you're on the horns of a dilemma, but it's not a good take to say you will block people from participating in / listening to your messages if they disagree with what your friends say about gun control, (especially when you yourself seem to disagree with them as well). Now, I completely understand blocking someone who is being rude, obscene, etc, but you have to understand that it sets people off to hear these guys --especially these guys-- advocate for further erosion of the 2A. They have a right to their opinions, but so does everyone else, and if they can't take the heat that comes in response, maybe they shouldn't express those opinions publicly.
