I have a question. Since we're talking about studio asset pipeline, are 3D Modellers fall under the "rigging" category? I tried changing my method of work pipeline and started using references, but apparently, I can't bind skin with referenced files. So do modellers also include rigging in their process also?

Not all 3D Artist do Rigging. In fact in a studio environment, most don't. It is a separate job

Question: So in the example, if you were texturing the asset as a reference, and then saved out the file, would you save it as a new scene file or as a new scene reference to update the original file? Just wanted to clarify the workflow.
