I really wished they would have showen the whole episode. What Mike and the crew did for this girl was incredible. They installed a strobe light for the door bell and her phone and for her lights to go off and on so she knows when people are at the door they went above and beyond for her and she deserved it it was a great episode. It just shows what a big heart everyone that was working on the team has.

I had a deaf co-worker friend and fellow union member I worked with once. She was a wonderfully patient person with us. She was a great lip-reader. I turned away while speaking and she literally grabbed my head and turned me toward her as she said, "I can't 'hear' you if I can't see you." That was a lesson learned. This video is exciting watching Mike and crew fix a problem for a smart person to function properly.

Mike, as a "deafie"(a hearing person who works, or, lives with deaf people) thank-you for doing an episode on the needs of deaf people in the world of owning a "owning a home that caters to their particular needs.🤟🤓🤭🥰😀 Doug

svtfast, if you ask a question, be sure to turn on replies! Wood that's been pressure treated with preservative has a different color to it (I usually see green, not blue) so that inspectors can tell at a glance if the proper kind of material has been used.

Hmm, is it just me that I cannot seem to find them using any “Dewalt Tools?” Makes us wonder what has happened? In my eyes Dewalt are not king of the Hill in power tools, many other manufacturers are, like Milwaukee tools and Hilti, both excellent tool companies. Good choice

Another thing. I have never in my 20+ years in construction seen a 1 inch concrete floor. More garbage you gotta watch out for on uneducated television shows like these
@xflynskywlkr2710 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Code is 3 1/2 - 4" Everyone exaggerates from time to time to prove a point. It doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing.

@dlwatib9 жыл бұрын
Well, of course concrete floors aren't *supposed* to be 1 inch, but the whole point of the show is that things often end up not being done to code when ignoramuses are doing the job.
@realemonful9 жыл бұрын
dlwatib the point is that this pink stud is trying to make professionals like myself who have to and do understand the purpose of codes and inspections look bad to the home owner. the beam was not cut prior to inspection... that building is way to new for that

This is a show people, which means it's produced. The beam would have been addressed before starting, and they way they talk is way over the top and silly. Very corny and it loses credibility with people who do this on a daily basis.

This should be strictly renovation....not kardashian moments

all you people that are supporting Holmes... you have no idea that your only supporting television and are loosing focus on reality trades people! This guy has no clue and is manipulating those of you that watch to much TV. For example .. glue, screw and nail a beam? Glue is a waste of time, especially in that kind of scenario... Screw? Screws have no sheer strength so all and all this clown is playing with your heads. I know this because many of us have done this kinda work for a lot longer than this guys been on TV
@dlwatib9 жыл бұрын
I think if you correct construction problems for over 20 years that you'd also be more than a bit peeved at so-called professionals that cut through critical support beams in order to install plumbing and commit other egregious errors that can potentially cause structural failure. As for your criticisms about screws and glue, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. The whole point is to make the reinforcement act as a single solid piece with the existing beams. Screws and glue do that better than nails. Yes, you need nails for sheer strength, but you nails won't adhere the individual pieces to each other to make a single beam.
@johnjones48259 жыл бұрын
