Mike Thankyou for your years of service to the electrical industry and especially loved your comment on safe installations at the end. It would be great at some point for you to do a guest visit on the E5 podcast - a podcast dedicated to the electrical industry for the UK they have a similar 18edition and amendment 2 code book (similar to NEC 2020). And discuss how different countries now are approaching the world of residential homes being a power consumer and power producer and what that means for safety issues, grounding and bonding, surges, and protection devices and how different countries have approached the problems. I think you and your team would enjoy it and more than that get to discuss some of these new areas of the electrical industry that will become so important in the world of climate change.

Climate has always been changing, so I'm sorry I don't get the connection. But I have my hands full with the US Electricl Code, and no time for additional ventures.
@mathman01014 жыл бұрын
@@MikeHoltNEC I understand you are busy. With climate change considerations coming into play more often there is likely to be more incentives provided for people to start installing solar. As people start to generate more of their own electricity by installing solar and EV charging which can go both ways charging and the car as a battery storage. The mix of AC and Dc power and protection requirements around that will need to be considered the NEC 2020 codes on that are likely to be important. But these issues that are coming into the code are also reflecting international discussions on trying to maintain safer electrical installations.

This safety crap seems to be getting worse every year you basically need to be a lawyer before you can be electrician now days.... and I don't think that's right electricians I supposed to be smart not brainwashed in talk to do things one way or they will get shocked.... They should be smart enough to know about power and not get shocked even without the safety equipment....also people in the households take electricity for granted now when they can still easily get shocked... This safety crap was just to get rid of all the yobo electricians that were working on houses... what sort of democracy is this when you need a government authorised park to complete your job on a domestic property.... I can hold the live wire in my hand and not get shocked because I know what I am doing and so should an electrician instead of relying on safety to protect them.
