I know it says this video is 6 years old, but it still provided me some very helpful information I was looking for. Thank you. It was very thorough and with clear details. We need more of that. Thanks again and I hope you have a great day.

Best Disassembly Video of a Ruger GP100 I've seen some far.... only thing missing for is the barrel removal.
@MikeJack8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, it's the only complete disassembly video of a Ruger GP100 I can find, I can not recommend to remove the barrel, it is a job for a gunsmith.

THANK YOU for this very detailed & not to mention in focus video. I just purchased a GP100 (model 1705) and this tells me everything I need to know. Do you have a part # for the bit used to remove the screw inside the cylinder?

I was given one that was in a cabinet that got soaked with soot saturated water, and needs to be reblued. I was told to take the firing pin out for the process. You skipped over that part in your video. Is it difficult to do?
@MikeJack7 жыл бұрын
I will never remove the firing pin on a GP100, it is a job for a very good gunsmith. good luck.
@markcash27 жыл бұрын
I am in luck. I was told to just tape over the firing pin before putting duracote on the gun. The finish around the firing pin is good, so there will be no problem.

I need help. Ruger Redhawk .41 cal. firing pin removal. All I see are pins held in place with nut and tool to remove. I don't see any nut around the pin to remove. Is some thing blocking my view and needs to be taken out. I have removed everything you would do to clean it up. Lost this in a fire. Help me save her.
@MikeJack5 жыл бұрын
I can not recommend removing the firing pin, you will damage the revolver. If the firing pin is broken contact Ruger, they have lifetime warranty. Good luck

your crane separated so easily from the cylinder - i have TWO GP100's and i still can't get either one out, no matter how much i pull on it - i really don't want to risk getting any tools involved to take it out - no idea why both are so stubborn, especially after watching you remove it with very little effort - any advice? Plan B lol
@MikeJack6 жыл бұрын
Hi after you removed the ejector, The two locking balls will fall down if you pull hard. good luck
@e.miller89436 жыл бұрын
If the gun has been shot a lot, there is a ring of burned powder that holds the cylinder on the crane. Might try soaking both in solvent or just rotate the cylinder when pulling on it.
