Here it is, how to make money with plants in your living room. Learn how to propagate, grow, and sell plants for cash. It's like having your own money printing press right in your own home and you can hit the print button any time you need some extra cash. This is an excellent home based business that anyone can start on a shoestring. Selling plants from home is simple, cheap to get started, and fun. If you love plants, especially houseplants, and you have fun propagating them, then this is the home based business for you and you should start rooting cuttings to create a "backyard nursery" for yourself. This business is no different than urban farming, you're just doing it with houseplants and landscape plants. There's one big secret. Chase the value you'll provide, not the money you'll get. If you do that, the money will come.

Do you need a license or anything like that to sell plants you grew from seeds? I started about 20 tomato plants I want to sell at our yard sale?
@johnkelly9451
@johnkelly9451 10 ай бұрын
In Pennsylvania we see growers sell by the roadsides, farmers markets, flea markets, road side signs by their house "tomatoe plants, bell pepper plants, cucumber plants", just my opinion, if you can sell your plants, fruit or flowers at a yard sale, I would go for it! Maybe if you visit a farmers market and ask, they would know, (or greenhouse?) By the videos I've seen so far, he's mentioned using heirloom plants and looking up if a particular one has a patent (roses video), so that says something if you make it your "buisness"... good luck in your endeavors! ❤-John's wife

Mike, Your enthusiasm is addictive. Found a way to get lots of material for cuttings and wanted to share. I saw an older gentleman triming his crype Myrtle's so I stopped. Asked if he would like to get rid of his pile. Man was he happy. I loaded my truck. He also let me take cuttings off other plants an trees too. Stuck hundreds. Helped him an me both.Win/win. We're retired. Extra money would sure help but what I enjoy most is meeting an talking to the people. My wife makes wreaths. Betty's burst of creation...Facebook market place. We meet so many nice folks. Plants are coming along nicely an should have some to offer in a year or so. Good things take time. Proverbs 3; 5&6. Thanks Mike !

That's great, Dean. I've done the same many times. People are always very friendly about sharing their cuttings if you ask. The videos I did about the english laurel all started with me driving through a nearby neighborhood and seeing a man trimming his hedges. I stopped and asked if I could take some trimming and he was more than happy. We talked for a while and hit it off pretty good. Those are the people I always remember. Thanks for sharing your story and I'll be sure to look for your wife's store on Facebook.

I collect my seeds and sell them on FB Marketplace @ $1 or $2 for a generous quantity. Morning glory, zinnia, cosmos, cleome, larkspur, hyacinth bean, etc. Easy to grow and a zen moment for me to collect from my yard. I also propagate hydrangea, wandering jew, birds' nest plants, and especially spider plants to resell. I enjoy teaching others how to care for the plants I sell. I've learned so much from your videos, Mike. TY!!

Wouldn't disregard seeds so much 😉 get much more for your money, easier to keep space wise and can always grow on to split later so cheaper to start out! Love your enthusiasm as usual, I'm missing my garden in the winter here and am struggling with covid lockdown to do something useful. Plants are a lot cheaper here it would seem than in the States, especially from our numerous supermarkets, hope you and the family are well ❤

I've been waiting so long for a person to bring out the importance of money! It's so strange that I find you on a video about selling plants. I've been really obsessed for my entire life with the idea of providing the most value I can in return for value back. It's honestly not hard at all to understand, but people have been taught that it's wrongfully advantageous to be making lots of money. If a person is providing value for a good price, why shame them for that? It makes me very happy that I found somebody with similar morals, and somebody who can lead the way. Thank you for being you.

Thank you for the nice comment. It’s a shame that we attach such bad vibes with money. It’s merely an exchange of value. It’s just a place holder that represents the value that you put out into the world. But notice I said value and not effort. A lot of people put out a lot of effort and don’t get ahead. Your compensation will be in direct proportion to your value. Good luck and I’m glad you enjoyed the video.

Thankyou for the encouragement! I'm gonna go for it and start selling plants this year. I have so many perennials that are crouded in my garden that I'm going to divide and pot up this spring and I've been propogating my houseplants all winter, currently have over 200 potted plants in the house and I'm working on creating listings on etsy that I'll put live as soon as its warm enough to safely ship plants. I'm excited for the possibilities, I've always loved propogating but had to make myself stop when i ran out of room in the house and garden. Now i can propogate to my hearts content!

Hey mike, I love and truly enjoy these videos. As a young 22 year old trying to figure out what I want to do with my life after graduating college with a degree I realized I don’t want to use. I’ve got one thing figured out for sure that I love growing plants and fungi. They bring me a joy nothing else does. As a young person without property, how can I eventually get to the point of where you’re at, or the point of purchasing a property and opening a nursery etc??? All love -cam
@MikeKincaid79
@MikeKincaid79 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Cameron, I can really appreciate where you're at. I was just there 20 years ago but it seems like yesterday. Forget the degree. If it helps you get a job or move forward toward your goal then great but don't hold onto it so tight that you miss the opportunities right in front of you. Many people who have degrees don't end up doing what they went to school for anyway. Life is way too short, do what excites you and motivates you. My Dad always told me to forget the money and do what you love. When you get good at it the money will come. Each day, your life begins right now, and you can choose to do or be whatever you want. You live in a special time, in a land that is overflowing with opportunity. It's not perfect but keep your eyes focused on the 1/2 full cup. My advice is to first, get your finances in order. Get some kind of a consistent income source flowing, no matter how big or small. You're young and it's good to work. You need to be out around others right now, moving, thinking, making connections, etc. Work on building credit, not getting into debt, but building credit. There are ways to do this without any money at all. When I was your age, I walked into a bank and told them I have no credit but I want to build it. I want to take a $3000 loan out and put it all in a CD. They let me do it and I made payments on that loan while the CD grew in value. I paid it off early and then was able to take the money out of the CD and it was mine. I basically bought my own money (not junk or liabilities) and built credit while I did it. This really jump started my credit building. Save, save, save! Delay gratification! Be different than 90% of the people out there and actually save your money. Learn to cook your own food, mow your own lawn, fix your own appliances, and essentially become self reliant. You'll save a ton of money. Some people call me cheap. I'm not cheap at all. I just recently bought my wife a 2019 Toyota 4runner with cash. I'm willing to spend a lot of money on quality items that will serve a purpose, but I'm not willing to nickel and dime myself to death on a daily basis. Adopt that mindset. As much as people hate to talk about it, money is an important part life. You need to master it while you're young. Read all you can about it and prepare yourself. Be patient. It takes time to achieve your goals. Our society demands instant gratification and it's not helping anyone. Attention span is about 7 seconds in this society (as evidenced by how fast the scenes change on a television show, lol). I've had this rhododendron dream for 15 years now. I still have it and I still keep slowly plucking away at it. I will achieve it, in fact, it's already been achieved in the future. All I have to do is wake up and hold that goal in my mind and keep choosing it. Just this morning I had a comment here from a lady that said, "It never works for me". My response was, "It has worked for you many times........in the future. You just haven't gotten there yet. Don't stop now or you'll change that course and never experience the joy that is already a certainty!" The one motivational piece of advice I can give in this regard is very near and dear to my heart and has inspired me to no end over the past 10 or so years. It was written by Neil Donald Walsh, "Yet here is a secret of all masters.......Keep choosing the same thing." Every morning, wake up and choose your goal, don't let your mind waver. You need to be constantly immersed with your goal. At your age, you need to be listening to motivational speakers like Zig Zigglar, Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy, Tony Robbins, etc. All that being said, if you want that property and you want that dream, don't let anything stop you, go get it. But maybe wait for a year or 2 until the market crashes first, lol. In the meanwhile, be preparing yourself in all the ways I mentioned above. I have a 3 part plan for success that I started creating when I was young and it has worked wonders for me over the years. I've never shared it with anyone. Maybe it's time to start a series of videos on all this. I wish you the best of luck and an excited for what you'll do to turn the world on its head. Now get out there an make it happen, Cam!
