Growing up as a short kid in Philly during the Iverson era was a blast. You never knew what you were going to get but you always knew it was going to be fun to watch. Even aside from the game itself Allen changed the way people dressed, changed how they approached the game. I used to practice my crossover/reverse layups/jump stops etc. everyday just to replicate what I had seen Iverson do the night before. He made it so us short kids had a place on the court. Thanks for the video Mike, keep up the good work.

I got to see him play the Celtics in the Garden one time, my dad hated him because he is a die hard fan of the Cs. But he blew my mind as a 14 year old, it was around the time Red Auerbach passed and they commemorated him by putting his silhouette of him with the cigar on the court, it was right above the 3 pt line I think. Its like 2 seconds left in the 3rd quarter and Philly inbounds to AI and standing right on Red's face he drills a 3/4 court shot. It was one of the most exciting moments I got to witness in person. Salvatore Giordano so crossing MJ gives you potential to be goat? Thats not a Good arguement at all.
@MagikPlayer6 жыл бұрын
Jass Naj I think it is actually :) He didn't just cross MJ, the best nba player of all time, he also clamped up other great nba legends, like Kobe, Gary Payton (another great defender), John Stockton, Steve Nash and many more! MJ was just the most famous and that's why I wrote that :)

Salvatore Giordano Crossing someone up still isnt an arguement as to why someone is the goat...... Literally EVERYONE gets crossed up, EVERYONE... Sure MJ was a great defender too but thas what happens. You are making it seem like he totally broke MJs ankles wich isnt true. He simply faked MJ out... I mean MJ was even there contesting the shot... Again please explain how faking someone out is an arguement for being the goat?

Allen Iverson is the reason wearing a sleeve is now a common seen trend in the NBA. Players say that wearing it has beneficial factors but it’s more of a fashion statement. I think Iverson started wearing one because he had a certain tattoo that he had to cover up since he’s on camera. He was like a basketball fashion icon lol. His swag on the court his tattoos and his braids not too many players had those back then in that era of basketball. You look at every player today and they all have tattoos and braids or dreads for a hair style.
