Growing up as a short kid in Philly during the Iverson era was a blast. You never knew what you were going to get but you always knew it was going to be fun to watch. Even aside from the game itself Allen changed the way people dressed, changed how they approached the game. I used to practice my crossover/reverse layups/jump stops etc. everyday just to replicate what I had seen Iverson do the night before. He made it so us short kids had a place on the court. Thanks for the video Mike, keep up the good work.

Allen inverson had the practice rant because his best friend had just died and the media was busy asking him about practice. He probably snapped because he thought they didn’t care about his best friends death.

He was only 6ft but their were many players in the nba who feared him. AI deserves a ring more then anybody. Your just a hater who jumped on a false idea that AI never went to practice, you dont get that good without going to practice. Your whole comment is going off that one famous practice video, but what you dont know is AI plays at least 40 minutes every time he enters the court and only missed one practice and your coming at him for that. Bruh you need to put more respect on AI's name.

I got to see him play the Celtics in the Garden one time, my dad hated him because he is a die hard fan of the Cs. But he blew my mind as a 14 year old, it was around the time Red Auerbach passed and they commemorated him by putting his silhouette of him with the cigar on the court, it was right above the 3 pt line I think. Its like 2 seconds left in the 3rd quarter and Philly inbounds to AI and standing right on Red's face he drills a 3/4 court shot. It was one of the most exciting moments I got to witness in person. Edit: he was in Denver at this point

Salvatore Giordano so crossing MJ gives you potential to be goat? Thats not a Good arguement at all.
@MagikPlayer
@MagikPlayer 6 жыл бұрын
Jass Naj I think it is actually :) He didn't just cross MJ, the best nba player of all time, he also clamped up other great nba legends, like Kobe, Gary Payton (another great defender), John Stockton, Steve Nash and many more! MJ was just the most famous and that's why I wrote that :)
@jassnaj7443
@jassnaj7443 6 жыл бұрын
Salvatore Giordano Crossing someone up still isnt an arguement as to why someone is the goat...... Literally EVERYONE gets crossed up, EVERYONE... Sure MJ was a great defender too but thas what happens. You are making it seem like he totally broke MJs ankles wich isnt true. He simply faked MJ out... I mean MJ was even there contesting the shot... Again please explain how faking someone out is an arguement for being the goat?

Allen Iverson is the reason wearing a sleeve is now a common seen trend in the NBA. Players say that wearing it has beneficial factors but it’s more of a fashion statement. I think Iverson started wearing one because he had a certain tattoo that he had to cover up since he’s on camera. He was like a basketball fashion icon lol. His swag on the court his tattoos and his braids not too many players had those back then in that era of basketball. You look at every player today and they all have tattoos and braids or dreads for a hair style.

A VIDEO ABOUT MY FAVORITE PLAYER
@omerali580
@omerali580 6 жыл бұрын
The Gary Payton practice story is actually made up BS. The reason for that practice rant was that his best friend died the previous day and they were just eliminated from the playoffs and the only thing the media asked about was practice so AI wasn't trying to hear it hence the practice rant. Even AI said if he didn't practice he must be one hell of a player.

Nick Dirksen Sure AI skipped practices and he even admitted to that but the story that he never practiced for a season is the most stupid thing ever said and what's even more dumb is people actually believe it.

Man, AI was my hero when i where a teen-ager.. I rocked the headband, sleeve and his jersey at school. I really wanted to have cornrows but living in a small town in Sweden no barbers knew how to do it. Remember, this was late -90 early 2000. I still rank him as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

AI was my idol growing up... I love this video. And damn... Crazy that he was focusing on the NFL and that incident happened and he begged to get into Georgetown and then ends up being the #1 pick. Wow I'd love to see the faces on his doubters. He will always be a legend.

RonnyDonny13 but he would have been more dominant all around offense and defense. Yes he was known for his quickness and shifty moves, however he probably could have been crazy better if given the same height as Kobe. I believe this cuz he was already crazy athletic and skilled but lacked in height but if he was lucky then ooh I can't even imagine him

Dear Mike, It would be awesome if you make a what if video on Isaiah Austin(the 2014 draft prospect who got removed from the draft because it was discovered that he had Marfan Syndrome just a few days before the draft. He was projected to select as the 15 or 16th pick) PS: His right eye is blind and he's playing in Lebanon now and he's a center with a smooth jumpshot
