The biggest issue with Gelo is he plays like a stretch 4, but with the height of a guard. Both his brothers has agility, quickness, and creative court vision that allows them to thrive at the point. his dad was the best thing that happen to him, becuz if it wasnt for his dad the only 1 that would be in the NBA right now...Lonzo is too boring of a player, Li'angelo is slow and not athletic enough...Melo is the only one with the most potential...Exclude Lavar out because him exploiting his kids is what put all them in that light. Liangelo ruined his own career by stealing in China....but even before that nobody was really cheacking for him, he was ust good for talk and sports news....Lonzo got in only because he was the first experiment being the oldest they wanted to see if he could live up to what his dad said he was....Welllllllll, you be the judge. Melo is the best of all of them and always had NBA gift, the rest was riding off straight exploitation.

To be a bad player even in the g league. That player still better than most people. People train their balls off to barely make it to a college team that isn’t even a D1 NCAA team. Ik it’s nepotism but nonetheless. Some dads would be happy they’d have a son good enough to even make the g league. Compared to Lonzo and especially Lamelo, he’s a failure but if that was your only son, you’d be proud of him and be happy he even made the closest thing to the NBA that’s not the NBA.

He made a dumb decision and deserves all the consequences that comes with it but I respect anyone willing to chase their dream I hope for nothing but the best and want to see his efforts rewarded. He doesn't need to make the NBA to be successful it doesn't seem likely but just becoming a solid rotation piece in a respectable league overseas would be great

@TheIcemanthomas
@TheIcemanthomas 8 ай бұрын
Because he wasn’t good enough. Plain and simple. And I said that from the jump but the hype beasts don’t understand how basketball works and think name alone will get u a spot. According to them, “oh the teams will want to get people coming to the games and he’ll sell tickets.” Billion dollar organizations worried about selling tickets? Gelo was never that big of a draw, and that would wear off after a few games. He’s short for a two, with a avagerage wingspan, he’s a ok shooter but nothing special, he doesn’t have an nba handle, he plays more like an undersized 3/4 rather than a two, he’s not an explosive athlete, he isn’t a good defender either, and he doesn’t have a true niche or defining skill. Potential wise, what is his ceiling? An Older Eric Gordon chucking 3s as a role player? That’s good but not good enough to deserve any more opportunities than any other average talent in the g league with far more experience who have to fight for their opportunities. If he would’ve stayed in college, worked on his game he may have gone second round to somebody at best. From the jump I said he could be a decent college player but that’s his ceiling. Y’all know an nba player when y’all see one. Should’ve known he wasn’t it. Good basketball player but just not nba level. It’s the luck of the draw. Two got lucky genetically, and he got the worst hand. Sometimes y’all forget that getting into the nba draft ALONE is almost and impossible feat.. very few out of 1000s of talents world wide even get the opportunity to be taken serious by nba scouts. Making it to an actually roster in the g league is difficult. But making it on a full time nba roster? By far the worst odds of any major American sports league.

@farrdawgjoker7087
@farrdawgjoker7087 8 ай бұрын
His best shot was in college but his stupid decision to try and steal something in China where he and his teammates totally blend in and in no way stick out in crowds. Still can't understand how he was picked out of a photo line-up. But I think that said way more about him than any other thing up to that point because his older brother wasn't there to lead and his younger brother he looked out for wasn't there and let's be honest his dad wasn't breathing down his throat so truly on his own with teammates he wanted to impress he made the worst decision of his life. After that he should have stayed in school and went back to UCLA and earned his way back into the UCLA tram and the American people who really didn't like him after that stupid decision. He is very lucky President Trump got them released and back out of China. After that his father absolutely destroyed any and every chance he had to ever make it and had his little brother not been young enough to go back to high school he would have also been ruined but got lucky. But everything will come back to the sideshow of his father and nobody thinks a bench player is worth the circus that comes with him. Its unfortunate but I still think he should try out for Canadian football league because he has everything needed to be a he'll of a tight end and a better shot of getting to the NFL than the NBA!

Two things that really didn’t help LiAngelo and I think are the reason he didn’t make it were, I hate to say it, he’s not as athletic or as intelligent as his brothers. It sounds mean, but guys as “thick” or frumpy as he is don’t make the league unless they have an extremely high IQ. Guys like Lowry, Dort, Smart. They use their body weight to be defensive menaces. Gelo never had the smarts to do that, his dad only ever cared about his sons scoring and playing offense (Lonzo was never a great defender till he got to the nba, remember). If he had the hustle and the intelligence to become more of a defender first, he could’ve been a Lou Dort type in the league. Otherwise he’s just not tall, skinny, mobile, or athletic enough to be a low % shooter in a league where shooters are a dime a dozen. You look at his brothers and they have everything he doesn’t. Height (especially for their position), high basketball IQ, length, playmaking ability, versatility, and athleticism. Gelo has not even one of those things. He’s short, frumpy, and pretty bad at the one thing he does bring to the table. Plus, it’s hard to say, but I just have a feeling neither of his brothers would’ve been stupid enough to steal from a store in china when you’re that high profile. They both know what being a celeb athlete means, more or less. Gelo was always kind of the knucklehead with the small brain, unfortunately. He could barely get out a coherent thought in their tv show. I like the ball brothers in general, I don’t think I’ve ever posted a comment about Gelo, but if we’re being real here, this is why he hasn’t done anything. He’s not smart enough or athletic enough. And he’s not talented enough to counter how unintelligent he is, a la a lance stephenson or Gilbert arenas or someone. He’s not even a g league level talent, let alone an nba level one.

It's simple. The Ball family genes seem to be ideal for a certain body type and playing style. Gelo whether he knew it or not went against the grain, while Melo and Lonzo took what their genes gave them. If Gelo went the slim build, crafty guard route like his brothers, he would probably be in the league too. The way he's built now, he would've been better off playing football as a tight end.
