Hey Mike, I'm the author of the Castlevania USR and really enjoyed seeing it in here. Specially because I was gonna suggest that you'd give it a try, considering how much you've been contributing to the retrogaming scene with your entertaining content, dedication and natural charisma. About the game, it took me a lot of time to develop it. Being a Castlevania fan (this is my fourth released game for this title), I wanted to create a new version that, just by memorizing the enemies and paths wouldn't be enough to become good at it. Sure, it's "kind of tough" and may be hated by many but, who knows, others can find some enjoyment and satisfaction when finally beating every level of this one. P.S. : I'm sorry for the orb trick and hope you didn't break your joystick
@mikematei2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I appreciated this hack. I don’t want you to think I didn’t like it. I did like it. Its just really difficult, which is fine. Sure the orb part is a little troll-like but I thought it was funny. As far as hacks go, it checked a lot of the boxes for what I look for. It had a new level design. The sprites were different and it was challenging. The ones I dont like are where its only a sprite swap. And I’m not into kaizo hacks but there are people out there that like those so, just not for me. Anyway, cool hack. Hope to see you make more in the future.
@hackinglifeash98632 жыл бұрын
@@mikematei Sure, no problem. I didn't think you hated it and totally get the frustration. When I mentioned "people disliking it", was referring to some of the opinions I've read, but that's fine and expected. I'll stick with one of their definitions: "I like it but at the same time think it's bullshit". Just a brief explanation about "Mr. Boner" here: This is Simon, that died trying to beat Dracula and put the blame on the whip, replacing it by a sword. Unluckily for him, Dracula decided to play around with the stages to kill his boredom during Simon's absence. Anyway, would be cool seeing you playing, at least, the second level but, If you feel like trying another Castlevania hack that is also for experienced players ( no orb pranks this time ), my first one, that took me 2 years to complete - Castlevania Revamped - from 2020, may worth a try. Thanks man.

@hackinglifeash98632 жыл бұрын
@@mikematei Compared to Werewolf, beating the first level was almost a walk in the park for you now. :) That area where you left off on the second level is an electrified platform. Not possible to control the character once touching it until reaching the other side. And you were right, it is a glitch on the game that I used on purpose to create that kind of effect. So, way to go for reaching that part!

I wish Nintendo would make more official 8-bit and 16-bit Mario, Zelda, and Metroid games. Kind of like Sega did with Sonic Mania. It should be real easy to do with modern hardware and sell them for like $10 a piece digital download. Just need a good level designer. I'd buy them. I'd like another Mario 3 game but with all new levels. I know they have Mario Maker, but most of the levels are pretty bad on that, and I'd like an entire game to play through.
