I've watched numerous KZbin videos over the past 8 years on how to reset the service lights. Yours was promising, I tried it & it didn't work. I rewatched the video & saw I was missing a step. I tried it again & successfully reset ALL of the service reminders that were done, but showing overdue. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.

Worked as mentioned I just had to remember to close the door prior to trying the reset procedure. 2012 Mini Cooper S with Dash installed MINI GPS. Thank you very much. Oh this also reset the warning message in my Vehicle status Page.

Worked great. My Diagnostic machine couldn't even reset the light. As you advised, I just had to try your method at least 2 or 3 times, but then it eventually reset and the warning light doesn't show anymore. Many Thanks! 😉👍

Hi Mike, I have a Mini Cooper 1.6 2012. The way you describe how to get into the reset mode doesn't work the same. After pushing the Start button, without starting the engine, holding the trip button for 5 sec does nothing. Holding it longer, 10sec, it goes into a menu, 1.00, showing the VIN and other details. I got all but one Service Light reset by using only the BC button, entering via the SET/INFO menu only (with the motor running, not only with the ignition on). The one light that would not reset in the Break Fluid light. Do you know if there is a sensor that checks the condition of the Break fluid? The Service Book refers to the Condition Based Services system.

Hi, yes it is built into the brake fluid reservoir. But if the level is low then it will show the work BRAKE in red. If the service is due then it must be reset.

I had just put in a new fuel pump in the R56 and when it started I noticed it had the service light and oil light and low tire light . I found a video on resetting the tire light . Then I found your video on the service light . I watched it about 6 times and felt confident to get it right. Lol I'm 63 years old and I did something wrong but it still worked . I wish I knew now how to reset the date for next service. Because I believe I set it wrong trying to get it go backwards after making it go forward until 10/2027 .... I'm so stupid lol 😆 not even sure how it happened the first time . So I tried again and made it worse . I don't even know if it's possible to go back in time , only forward... if you know if it's Possible I'm all ears 👂 lol I believe if it can be done , you would know how to do it .

You might of reset the state inspection date light. That is the only one where you can actually manually set the date. If that is the case then it is okay to leave it as is.

I have a few CC-IDs wondering if theres any answers to these. Scanner says p1782, went further ahead, has another code 2FAA, CF2C, and 5DF3. CC-ID 31 - Engine Problem, Increased Emissions CC-ID 35 - DSC Failed CC-ID 250 - Brake Signal Malfunction, Gears May Be Selected Without Brake CC-ID 354 - Start Assist Inactive CC-ID 371 - Number Plate Light Failure 2009 Mini Cooper Convertible. Recent Service - Timing chain - Spark plugs - New battery - New keyfob Brake light came on after brake job done by a local shop a few months ago and hasn't turned off since. I tried deleting all codes and resetting all services through the cluster and turn signal. All lights came back. Turned it off to put gas at the pump and lights went away. Stopped and turned it off after driving for about 10 mins, turned the engine back on and all lights came back again! Maybe a short somewhere?

Thank you. You can purchase a generic code reader/clearer to clear the code after fixing the issue. I recommend the creator. It is specific to MINI and is cheap

Hi Mike! I have a 2013 Mini Paceman JCW with the nav. I replaced the pads myself before ever needing replacement as I wanted a better pad so I went with Akebono pads for less dust and there was no need to change any of the sensors as they where still intact (car only has 33k miles).... Several months later a count down for the service brake sensor light came on and now the light is on just like your video. So I followed the instructions above given but it doesn't seem to clear the red rear brake service light. Any suggestion on how to turn it off even though my pads are new and the sensor where never needing replacement? I did the reset but after I turn off the ignition and turn it back on, the red light rear service brake light is still there. Am I doing something wrong? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

If you are trying to reset the brake pad service. The sensor must be replaced before it will allow you to reset it. The other services should reset using the method int he video.

Any idea why my tach and speedometer isn't back lighting on my R56 (2012) Thanks! All back lighting works inside the car, ambient lighting, interior lights etc. The high beams doesn't work if i push them forward either. Please help..thanks. They (the dealership) all worked before we had the wiring done to fix the CanBus. One wire was cut in half, which is why our air conditioning stopped working. It works now after repaired, but our tach and speedometer back lighting stopped working. Any Ideas? Thanks!

If it is a brake job you're trying to reset. The sensor must be replaced first. Then it will let you reset that service.

It sounds like one of your brake wear sensors are worn through. If you already did brakes then the sensor needs to be replaced, They are one time use only. Then you can reset the service light with this video. Hopes this helps.

It could be a bad negative battery terminal. Some models have a built in sensor called an IBS. When they go bad they will reset the clock

HI , The window motors may need to be initialized. Try finding a video on that and see it that solves your issue.

Had the same issue on my '11. When opening the door the window motor will detent down 5mm, then when the door is closed the window closes completely. I had an issue where my window would drop on open, and not move back up upon closing. There is a "reset" that I went through that fixed mine. With the car ignition on, not started, roll down the window, keep holding down on the toggle for 5+ seconds, then roll up the window and once closed keep holding the toggle up for 5+ seconds. Shut off the ignition. Open and close the door the detent feature should now work if the symptom was this mentioned issue without any additional faults.

Hello, I purchased a paceman s 2015 about 4 months ago. How do I know if the service indicators are correct. I only noticed recently, when I first put the key fob in, start the car, it shows service with a -5000, but I don't recall seeing this when I first purchased the vehicle. I recently had an oil change and I am wondering if the tech set the service information incorrectly, or does the computer on the vehicle automatically reset itself? I did not get an owner's manual with the vehicle,but I downloaded one from online which is a countryman/paceman combo manual. Several features on the paceman are not in the manual, like do I have a factory alarm on the car. When I use the key fob to lock the car, I don't hear the little beep sound when most people hear when they remotely lock their vehicle, that's one thing. Another thing is there's like a little rectangular, red color, I think liight on top of the tachometer and I have no idea what its for, it doesn't light up and i'm not sure whether it is a light or not. There is also what appears to look like a camera lens on the backside of the rear view mirror but i'm not sure what it's for either, I thought maybe it was the garage door opener feature, but there are no buttons on the mirror anywhere to activate!!! , that's just a few of my unknowns, can you help?
