Most impressed to see how you got that out You have the experience to know what to do in that situation, that can't taught This is why you as farmer are farming that land Because there are millions of people out there who cannot do that They might have the money to buy it but they could not do your job And there are lots of folk relying on the food you/we produce

Those rear weights on the John Deere need to go on the front axle because the heavier the drawbar pull, you get a weight transfer from front to back , causing more torque on the rear diff. When free of load , the tractor should be 60% front 40% rear. I specialise in tractor weight balancing. Also, tyres pressure should be no more than 7 psi front and 9 psi rear Hope this helps

I’ve had to pull on our 3320 at a 90 degree angle to the hitch. Only saving grace was that it was muddy enough that the big steer tires just skidded once the hitch maxed out it’s ability to turn. It wasn’t pretty but I got it out with no damage.

You know, you could build yourselves a basket there on the tongue of the drill for the strap instead of carrying it all the way to the rear of the cart and back every time you use it. When I saw you carrying it there at 14:33 all I could think of is one of those guys in a strongman competition trying not to get a hernia while carrying some huge concrete boulder. Thanks for the great videos!

@@mikemitchell2554 I once got stuck when I fell asleep and ended up in a slough at the bottom of a hill. Ended up bringing in a HD Winch Truck from the oil patch to pull me out the other side as had harrows behind a cultivar and going backwards wasn't an option. Definitely learnt my lesson that day as the pay cheque took a beating
@jc76542 жыл бұрын
mud and tracks don't mix , if they get mud in the centre it'll bugger the gide lugs, then the track has trouble with staying straight in the under carage. only thing that's in your favour is it's not slop . we have country over here we call Sunday country, because it's usually too wet Friday and too dry Tuesday. and we also have red soils that you can not tell if it's wet or dry by the look of it as it doesn't change colour or appearance , makes for very tricky farming at times 😁👍

From someone who has been in this same situation many times, why would you fill that big cart right full in such wet conditions
@Stubones9992 жыл бұрын
I would put the strap and chains in the tractor, not the cart, since more weight means more traction... Dad always cautioned me for tilling wet land since it drives the air out of the soil and ends up with less productive soil... But that's in GA...
@John-nc4bl2 жыл бұрын
A fast burn-out across the field to clear the mud out of the tracks between the vee bars would have helped for traction.

Sorry Mike, but that's still not "Stuck". Temporarily inconvenienced!?.....absolutely! Which of course, is a complete pain in the Tuchus! But until another vehicle or piece of motorized equipment is involved in recovery....not so much. 1167: 2.....Mud: 0 Now....the only way to give a fair comparison to the 1167, with the Deere....is to purposely seed in the exact same areas as you accidentally took the 1167. The scientific method at work!.....Stay Tuned!!????

You should build a deck on the hitch to store the strap and clevis. That way there isn't so much having to carry it all the way around the drill. Of course the thought of having to carry it may deter the desire to keep pulling when you shouldn't.
