My 16 year old daughter just introduced me to this band and I have say it makes me very proud as a parent to know my kids recognize great music with real depth and real honesty in it. Now I'm just trying to figure out how I haven't heard them before now.

This whole set was (and is) mind blowing to be sure - the songs, his voice, the sheer musicality of them all, the dynamics he employed then. But he and current band still is stunning, in a slightly different and older way. Saw them 3 times in autumn ('21) and found my self wondering how many of those Collections gigs I would have needed to get bored. And I couldn't imagine. Some golden thread runs through it all, and it can only be him

"I will become what I deserve." These words have affected me so much in recent years. It seems silly, but I have surrounded myself with them when I feel I can't cope with life. They have followed me in my efforts to overcome suffocating depression and anxiety. Sometimes it seems like I have made no progress at all, but I listen to this song and it reminds me to keep fighting.

If you are still sticking it out, despite all that, props. I cant say how you feel/felt, but , at the same time, I understand. It's a massive struggle just coming up with new excuses to not off yourself. I hope you have some peace. Keep fighting.

Every band has a performance out there that is somehow the pinnacle of their skills, individually and as a unit....things just work....the conditions just match and everyone is on point and shit hot...this is theirs....it's tight as fuck but at the same time feels loose,human and jammy...perfection by all.
@McStoolio3 жыл бұрын
This is far from their pinnacle. He has way too many great performances to call out only one. End of the affair on Jools Holland is a contender though, 7 mins that your ears will thank you for.

6:13 the face on the black haired lady was my exact expression the first time I seen this. Just sheer wonderment at the musicality of this extremely talented group of musicians who feel every note, every beat, it's coming from somewhere deep within their core, and you can't help but feel it too. Ben's vocals and guitar are amazing all on their own, but it's the band that brings it all to life. I'v never seen a bass player play both his own instrument and syncopate with the drums and he made it look flawless. Truly a tremendous group, and I totally feel late to the party coming across them in 2020 lol

"The Fear" My, my, cold-hearted child, tell me how you feel Just a blade in the grass, a spoke unto the wheel Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me where it's all gone All the luster of your bones, those arms that held you strong Oh, I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear I've been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me how you feel Just a grain in the morning air, dark shadow on the hill Oh, my, my, cold-hearted child, tell me where it all falls All this apathy you feel will make a fool of us all Oh, I've been worryin' that my time is a little unclear I've been worryin' that I'm losing the ones I hold dear I've been worryin' that we all live our lives in the confines of fear Oh, I will become what I deserve Oh, I will become what I deserve Oh, I will become what I deserve Oh, I will become what I deserve I've been worryin', I've been worryin', I will become what I deserve I've been worryin', My time is a little unclear I will become what I deserve I've been worryin', I've been worryin' That my time is a little unclear I've been worryin', I've been worryin' That I'm losing the ones I hold dear I've been worryin', I've been worryin' That we all live our lives in the confines of fear

You don't know me but I had a really dark lonely past it seemed so impossible to feel wanted, loved, worthy, important all of those emotions wasn't there because of one thing after another lead to lots of suffering,pain,depression, and etc, but this girl here survived those tough years even though she needed lots of help from a therapist because mwah was screwed up back then after moving out of the situation I will admit to having bad anxiety, nightmares from the past, low self esteem, and more it's been three years since then I am making a little bit of progress still need to fully healed anyways that is about it other than nothing can break me not even the bad days!
