Head this song for the first time three years ago when I was driving a rental car through Mallorca. Ever since, I've been trying to find the song. I will be driving through France this summer and told myself it would be great if I could listen this song in the car. Today, in a lawn mower dealer this song was playing. I quickly opened Shazam and finally I am listening this song again! I guess I can be thankful for having this technology in my pocket.

Listened to this in 1984 driving with Dad in his new car from Denmark to Hoek v Holland and then through England all the way to Scotland. Drinking Scotch with Scots in Inverness going to Loch Ness to get a glimpse of Nessie but instead saw a Piper in full outfit pacing the stonewall playing. Then south to Exeter and back home. Always comes to me when listening to this what a great voyage it was. RIP Dad.

I read about her life years ago...here's a strange story. I was visiting the ruins of a house where she was kept under house arrest for a while; my mum got quite upset, and she said that the rooms were 'too small' and she felt claustrophobic. Before we left I bought a guide book...it told that Mary had actually complained about how tiny the rooms of her 'prison' were. Still gives me the willies.

Yep...she had been married as a teen to François II (I think), a French King of ours, pretty sweet...but the boy died of an awful ear abcess. She was then brought back to England where her cousin, Elizabeth, feared that Mary's links to France - where she was super popular - could threaten her Kingdom. The worst is that she actually must have prayed the Lord she could get back to beautiful France... The final break, as Maggie Reily just sings "Never going to...." (without the final words) stands for her inner toughts, cut by the axe falling on her neck as she was behaded (in the most botched possible way). This song is a jewel. A painting, a movie, a novel...a jewel

Im 29, relatively young as far as music is concerned, but my mum and dad brought me up on Mike Oldfield, Queen and Genesis and I cannot wait to introduce it to my child to show her that 'if you like it then you shudda put a ring on it' isnt the only thing the human race was doing before she arrived...

You don't hear much about Maggie these days, but what an amazing voice this lady has, she's easily up there with some of the all-time great female singers.

this song reminds me of a very specific moment in my life. I was a kid playing with my little cousins during summer vacations in Normandy. And this song was on the radio. I don't know why, but that, day, this afternoon, this moment and this song got printed in my memory. Everytime I hear it, I am back to this very day and very sweet memory

Maggie's vocal stands far apart from anythin' we hear today from the air. Truly regret this angels' voice has been nearly forgotten for now...

One of the most beautiful songs of those years and enjoyable even today, a pop song with a credible folk dress to take us back to the days of Mary Stuart, wonderful
